Prefixes & Suffixes

A prefix is a group of letters placed at the beginning of a root word


that changes its meaning. A suffix is a group of letters placed at
the end of a root to make a new form of the word.

dis- in- -ward -hood


un- fore- -ed -er
semi- mid- -ly -tion
anti- inter- -ish -hood

Add a prefix or suffix to the root word in the brackets to


complete each sentence.
