I completely agree with the statement that early Christmas shopping can help consumers save money, but

there should be a specific start date to maintain the season’s authenticity.

First of all, although Christmas is considered one of the most magical and popular holidays celebrated on
most parts of the world, unwritten rules on this subject could be established and taken into account, which
would in no way depreciate the meaning of this holiday and preparation for it. From my point of view, such
rules would be applicable especially in Western Europe and in the United States of America, where customs
and traditions have taken on a similar meaning. Therefore, the beginning of Christmas season could be
assigned to the weekend following Halloween weekend. Such a beginning would be consistent with
Christian traditions and would not extend this period too much. A commonly accepted beginning would
bring order and understanding both for consumers and for sellers, as well as for marketologists. From the
beginning of the period, those countries would be able to light the Christmas tree and sell pennetons, as
well as to introduce many other things authentic to this period.

From the second point of view, the fixed period may negatively affect the consumer and significantly
increase his costs. However, this argument is not entirely convincing when analyzing the topic from a
general perspective. Because consumers who want to save money can prepare for the CHristmas holiday
season for a longer time, or even throughout the year. For example, waiting and buying on special discounts
or purchasing gifts of a general, not Christmas theme.
