What is a regulated
dangerous good?

A product is considered regulated if any of its components are classified as

dangerous goods or substances or are otherwise regulated by one of the official EXAMPLES OF PRODUCTS CLASSIFIED AS DANGEROUS GOODS:
organizations of transport (DOT, IATA, IMDG, ADR, CMVR) or of product
handling and storage (CLP, GHS).

with batteries or being batteries themselves and must be fully filled out. If

Additional information on dangerous goods

Batteries

Lithium batteries are classified as hazmat under class 9 of all transportation regulations. For shipping and
labelling reasons we require information as to whether or not your product contains a lithium battery and, if so,
how it is packed.

Lithium battery packaging definition

- In equipment: If the battery is assembled in the item
- With equipment: If the battery is packed separately with the device it is meant to power
- Standalone: If the product is a battery sold alone or with items it is not meant to power

Additional comments:
- Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable
- Lithium metal batteries are not rechargeable
