1.0 Position Summary (To be filled in by the Recruiting Department)
1.1 Position: Education Specialist 1.2 Department/Project: Education Cannot Wait (ECW)
funded project titled “Improving access to inclusive and
equitable quality education for refugees, crisis affected,
and otherwise vulnerable children and adolescents.”
1.3 Category/Grade: Professional 1 1.4 Duty Station: Islamabad with frequent travel to the
project districts in Balochistan (Loralai, Kohlu and Panjgur)
1.5 Reporting to: Programme Manager ECW-MYRP
2.0 Job Responsibilities (To be filled in by the Recruiting Department)
Job Summary: Education Specialist will serve as a key figure in the ECW (Education Cannot Wait) funded Multi-Year
Resilience Program (MYRP), focusing on capacity building of project staff and teachers, on-the-job coaching, development
of manuals, and assessments on training effectiveness and learner satisfaction. S/he will lead efforts in child protection and
gender-based violence (GBV) prevention within the program's schools and will also prioritise mental health and
psychosocial support for both teachers and learners, recognising the importance of addressing emotional well-being in
educational settings. S/he will also develop content for various thematic areas, ensuring alignment with project objectives
and donor priorities. The role involves providing technical assistance, fostering stakeholder engagement, and maintaining
effective communication with project stakeholders. The Education Specialist will spearhead the formulation of strategies
aimed at improving education at both organisational and district levels, ensuring alignment with project goals and donor
expectations.
i. Develop and design comprehensive teacher training programmes tailored to the specific needs and goals of the
Education Cannot Wait project.
ii. Incorporate best practices, innovative methodologies, and evidence-based approaches into the design of training
programmes.
iii. Develop comprehensive manuals, guidelines, and reference materials ensuring appropriate delivery of training
programme/plan.
iv. Ensure that training programmes address key areas such as pedagogy, andragogy, subject knowledge, child
protection, gender sensitivity, mental health support, and psychosocial wellbeing.
v. Measure and assess the effectiveness and impact of training programmes on teacher performance, student
learning outcomes contributing to overall objectives of ECW programme.
vi. Enhance capacities of project staff and teachers in implementing organisational and district-level education
strategies.
vii. Provide on-the-job coaching support to project staff and teachers facilitating adoption of best practices and
methodologies.
viii. Visit programme districts regularly to provide support to implementing partner.
ix. Interact as and when required with the provincial education department.
x. Perform any other official assignment given by supervisor or RSPN management.

3.0 Required Qualifications, Skill and Experience (To be filled in by the Recruiting Department)
3.1 Education: Masters or equivalent degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or relevant discipline
from a recognised university
3.2 Experience:
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge/Experience of working in a humanitarian setting for promoting/implementing education related
projects.
• Experience of working in emergencies and/or vulnerable regions of Pakistan will be preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, training facilitation, teaching and learning assessments and
instructional design
3.3 Skills:
• Proficient in Non-Formal Education models, including Accelerated Learning Programs and Catch-up Learning
Programs.
• Experienced in addressing educational needs of marginalized populations, including Children with Disabilities,
Afghan Refugees, and girls.
• Understanding of girls' education issues and challenges in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan.
• Skilled in report writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu; familiarity with Pashto and local languages
of Balochistan will be an advantage.
