Title of the Report: Home Management Date Reported: August 02, 2023

Reporter/s: Gacatura, Manuel, and Sublito

A. Cite 2 most important insights gained in the report/s presented and discuss them
freely briefly: (30 pts)

The reporters discussed knowledgeably there topics and here are some insights I
had learned from them.

Home management encompasses the systematic coordination of tasks,

responsibilities, and activities necessary for maintaining a well-organized and functional
household. It involves activities such as cleaning, organizing, budgeting, meal planning,
maintenance, and more, all aimed at creating a comfortable and efficient living environment.

There are several factors influence home management, shaping the way tasks and
responsibilities are handled within a household. Family size and composition play a significant
role; larger families may require more complex scheduling and resource allocation. Lifestyle
preferences and work commitments impact the time available for tasks such as cleaning,
cooking, and maintenance. Financial considerations influence budgeting and purchasing
decisions, affecting the quality of products and services used in the home. The physical layout
and design of the home determine storage solutions, furniture arrangements, and organization
strategies. Additionally, cultural norms, personal values, and technological advancements also
influence how individuals and families approach home management, guiding choices related
to sustainability, digital organization, and overall lifestyle.

B. Cite clearly an actual classroom or learning situation where the inputs/insights

discussed in the online class interfacing have been applied/implemented. (30 pts)

In a classroom setting, home management principles can be applied effectively to teach

students valuable life skills and foster a sense of responsibility. For instance, a high school
Home Economics class could simulate a "Home Management Challenge" where students are
assigned roles within a virtual household. Each student takes on responsibilities such as
budgeting, meal planning, cleaning schedules, and digital organization. This exercise not only
imparts practical skills but also enhances teamwork, time management, and problem-solving
abilities.
During the simulation, students might encounter situations where they need to allocate
limited funds for groceries while considering nutritional needs and dietary preferences. This
reinforces budgeting skills and decision-making. They might also face challenges in
coordinating cleaning routines, illustrating the importance of effective communication and
collaboration within a shared living space. Encouraging students to manage digital resources,
like organizing and sharing important files, helps them understand the significance of a clutter-
free digital environment for optimal efficiency.
Furthermore, incorporating real-world scenarios like unexpected bills, appliance
breakdowns, or emergencies, into the simulation helps students understand the unpredictability
of home management and the need for flexibility. By integrating such hands-on experiences
into the classroom, students gain practical knowledge that prepares them for the challenges of
independent living, equipping them with essential life skills beyond traditional academic
subjects.
