ABSTRACT
In recent years, the escalating frequency and intensity of forest fires have become a
global concern, necessitating the development of advanced technologies for early
detection and efficient mitigation. This research presents a comprehensive solution
through the integration of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) with cloud computing
and an Android interface for timely and accurate forest fire detection.
The proposed system utilizes a network of strategically deployed wireless sensors
within the forested area, equipped with advanced fire detection sensors and
communication modules. These sensors continuously monitor environmental
parameters such as temperature, humidity, and smoke density. Upon detecting
abnormal changes indicative of a potential fire outbreak, the sensors autonomously
trigger alerts and relay real-time data to a cloud-based platform.
The cloud infrastructure serves as a centralized repository for collected sensor data,
enabling rapid analysis and decision-making. Machine learning algorithms are
employed to process the data and distinguish between normal environmental
variations and fire-related anomalies. The use of cloud computing not only enhances
the scalability and efficiency of the system but also facilitates remote monitoring
and management.
To ensure widespread accessibility and user-friendliness, an Android interface is
developed for both real-time monitoring and historical data analysis. The Android
application enables users, including forestry officials and emergency responders, to
receive instant alerts, view detailed fire-related information, and make informed
decisions on intervention strategies.
The proposed system aims to significantly reduce response times to forest fires,
leading to more effective containment and mitigation efforts. The integration of
WSN, cloud computing, and an Android interface provides a robust and scalable
solution that can be deployed in diverse forest environments. This research
contributes to the growing field of smart environmental monitoring systems and can
have a profound impact on the preservation of ecosystems and the protection of
human lives and property.
