SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 7

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:


a) Define grammatical signals;
b). identify the different patterns of idea development;
c.) distinguish appropriate grammatical signals to each pattern of idea
development; and
d). write a paragraph about a social issue using a pattern of idea
development with appropriate grammatical signals.

B. Motivation

To start the class formally, the teacher presents the first activity to the learners.
Explain to the students that they will be unscrambling words related to different
patterns of idea development and matching them with the corresponding pictures.

Lesson Proper

 The teacher will discuss the definition and its uses of appropriate Grammatical
Signals or expressions to each pattern of idea development
 The teacher will give examples in each grammatical signals or expressions
1. Activity

 The teacher will group the learners into four and give her instructions.
 The teacher will flash the questions on smart TV. Complete the paragraph by
filling in each blank with the appropriate grammatical signal found in the box.
Each group has to answer the given question.

 The teacher will group the learners into four (4).


 The teacher will flash a photo on the TV screen and students will Write at
least a five-sentence paragraph about the issue conveyed in the
picture using a pattern of idea development with its appropriate grammatical
signals.
 The teacher will present the scoring rubrics to the learners for the task.

3. Generalization

 The teacher will ask the learners about the lesson they have discussed to test if
they really understand the lesson.
4. Evaluation

 The teacher will give five (5) items quiz to the learners. They are only given five
minutes to finish the task.

5. Assignment
 On your notebook think of a social issue that is happening in your community.
Then, write at least a five-sentence paragraph about your chosen issue using
your preferred pattern of idea development. Make sure to use appropriate
grammatical signals for your chosen pattern.
