Purpose:
The purpose of generating this method of statements is to define the procedure step by step to implement the correct
practices for Lifting the generator set (DG301) in switchgear-2

Location of Site
Substation-2 Saudi Aramco Jazan Camp

Scope of Work:
Electrical Side
 Rack out the DG301 incomer circuit breaker.
 Turn off all control supply in DG301 incomer switchgear panel.
 Turn off all control supply in generator controller panel.
 Disconnect all external control cables from the generator.
 Disconnect power cables from the generator.
 Remove grounding cables at the generator body.
Mechanical Side
 Disconnect battery connection inside the generator.
 Disconnect Diesel inlet valve from the generator.
 Ensure the good condition of lifting hooks.
 Lifting the generator set using crane.
Note: -
 Check area is clean for the positioning of lifting crane and generating set.
 Extra precaution to be taken before lifting generating set.
 Guide ropes shall be used to prevent the twisting or swinging of the set once it has been lifted clear of the
ground.
 Don’t attempt to lift the diesel generator set in the high wind.
 Placing of generator set shall be offered for inspection after all related work is completed.
 Ensure that the crane operating area is able to support the mass of the crane and the generator set .

Safety introduction: -
(All the necessary PPE’s used as Saudi Aramco Standards requirements)
1. Ensure adequate PPE for all personnel.
2. Ensure work area shall be free from debris and obstruction free.
3. Ensure all involved persons are aware of the same through tool box briefings
4. Ensure that tradesman will keep their working places clean, tidy and free from rubbish
5. Uniform, Vest, Shoes, Insulated gloves, Helmet
Note: -
Observed the safety practices as per the Saudi Aramco Safety Guidelines
Maintain proper housekeeping surrounding area of work place.
Fill all job safety analysis for the above tasks per SA procedures & permit system.
