Guidebook Essay
The Essay Competition held by 14th English Parade is intended to improve student's critical
thinking skills and develop students' abilities in writing scientific papers, producing innovative
ideas, and creativity. In addition, this competition aims to facilitate essay competition
participants to develop their writing interests and talents. By the theme promoted by 14th
English Parade, namely “Showcasing the Beauty of Nusantara”. Therefore we hope that
through the essays produced, a deeper understanding can emerge about the importance of
preserving and promoting the beauty of the archipelago for future generations.
TIMELINE
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS
a. The participants of Essay Competition 14th English Parade are students at PTN/PTS
level S1/D4/D3/equivalent throughout Indonesia as evidenced by Student Identity Card
(KTM) or Temporary Student Identity Card (KTMS).
b. The participants of Essay Competition 14th English Parade register individually.
c. Every participant must follow English Parade’s Instagram account @englishparade14,
upload the twibbon to IG feeds, share the poster of the competition on IG Story, then
show the proof in the form of screenshots on the registration form
d. The participants must be registered and paid the registration fee before 11th May 2024.
e. The participants are willing to obey the rules that have been set while participating.
COMPETITION SEQUENCES
a. Registration:
Participants are required to understand the Guidebook first before registering.

Participants must register and send proof of payment on the link provided
The fee for the registration:
• Early Bird Registration : Rp100.000
• Regular Registration : Rp125.000
b. Submission
Participants are required to submit the essay script that have been completed in
accordance with existing writing requirements through the submission form. (The
participants sent scripts in PDF format accompanied by an original worksheet and
the Declaration of Originality Essay). File collection via the following link

c. Judging :
The judging stage is the stage of evaluating works according to the criteria and
conditions that have been determined. This stage aims to assess and determine who has
the right to be the winner.
d. Winner Determination:
The top 3 participants will be announced as the winners. The winners will be
determined from the adjudicator's assessment and the adjudicator's assessment cannot
be contested by anybody.
ESSAY RULES AND REGULATION
a. General Requirements:
• The essay must be written in English by choosing one of sub-themes provided by
the committee.
• The participants are not allowed to send more than 1 written work.
• The essay submitted by participants must be original works and have never been
published in any media.
• The essay written does not contain elements of ethnicity, religion, race and between
groups (SARA) and maximum Turnitin plagiarism is 30%.
• The participant must submit the essay according to the rules and timeline; if any
aspect of the essay does not meet the criteria, it may result in a point deduction or
disqualification.
• The participants must submit the Declaration of Originality Essay in the submission
form. The Declaration of Originality Essay can be access at

• The participants sent scripts in PDF format accompanied by an original worksheet
