• Signal words identify the level of injuries that can potentially occur.
• The signal words used in this manual and found on labels, DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION, are assigned
according to the level of potential risk.
• Warning labels are located at or near the part of the system that poses the indicated danger. Ignoring a warning may
cause death or serious injury, or system malfunction. Be sure to follow the indications in the manuals and on the warning
labels.
• The warnings include a signal word, the type and extent of the danger, and information on avoiding the danger.
• Carefully read and understand the warnings included in this manual and on the warning labels before operating the

1.1 If the Error/Attention display is shown

1.1 If the Error/Attention display is shown

1.1.1 Error/Attention numbers

If any trouble occur, an error message is shown on the Error/Attention display, and if an error requiring a simple action
occurs, such as incorrect operation or an opened cover, an attention message appears.

Error/attention number consists of the Error/attention number and a sub number following − depending on the type of
message. This sub number for the service personnel, so this manual does not describe the details about the sub number.
In the example below, 1 is the sub number.

Example: No. 05900−1

IMPORTANT
• If the same error/attention message is shown repeatedly, or the error/attention message cannot be canceled
even after the corrective action has been carried out, consult your technical representative. Write down the
error/attention number, sub-number and message in advance. The information is required for inquiry.

1.1.2 If two or more Error/Attention messages are shown at the same

time
If two or more error and/or attention messages are shown simultaneously, the number of tabs corresponding to the number of
the errors and/or attentions occurred are shown on the same display.
Click all error/attention number tabs and check them. If there are cases in which the corrective action can be carried out
simultaneously, do so effectively.
If turning off the power supply to take corrective actions
Click all the error and attention number tabs and write down the contents before turning off the power supply.
When the power supply is turned off to take corrective actions, the unsolved error and/or attention messages are cleared.

! Cause
If white line appears in the advance direction on prints, the cause may be the following.

5. Quick Reference
Cause 1 The laser dust-proof glass is dirty.
Cause 2 The pressure guide of the exposure advance unit is dirty.

! Corrective action
Prepare the following and remove dirt from the laser dust-proof glass and the pressure guide of the exposure advance unit.
• Clean gloves
• Blower brush
• Supplied cleaning cloth
• Hand mirror
• Light

1. If paper is being processed, wait until it is fed to the print receiving tray.

2. Open all the printer doors.

If dirt is hard to remove, wipe it off using supplied cleaning cloth.
IMPORTANT
• Do not use alcohol to clean. It may adversely affect printing.
• You can wipe it from the front to the back. But, if you wipe it several times, be sure to wipe it in the
same direction. If it is wiped reversely, dirt removed may be put on the glass surface again.
• If it is difficult to confirm dirt due to the poor lighting, look the laser dust-proof glass in the mirror, and

Dirty part
Dirty part

G087305

! Cause
If both ends of prints are dirty, the cause may be the following.

Cause 1 The rollers of the processing racks are dirty.

! Corrective action
Prepare the following items, and clean the processing racks.

• Processing solution can cause eye irritation. Put on safety goggles.

• Processing solution can cause skin irritation. Put on rubber gloves and workwear.

IMPORTANT
• Be careful not to contaminate solutions.
• Specific grease is applied to the rack gears of the processing racks. Basically, you need not apply any
additional grease to them. However, if you apply grease, be sure to use the specified grease.
Using other grease may damage resin parts (e.g. tanks).
Conditions
Perform this operation with the power off.
Requirements
• Safety goggles
• Protective gloves (rubber gloves)
• Workwear (water-repellent)
• Vinyl sheet or cloth (for preventing the floor around the system from being stained by the solution)
• Anti-contamination cover, a vinyl sheet or a cloth to cover the Color Developer tank
• Soft sponge
• Firmly-squeezed damp cloth
• Toothbrush

• For details about the procedure, see ☞ Maintenance Manual 8.2 Checking and cleaning the processing racks
(LP7500/7600) or ☞ Maintenance Manual 8.3 Checking and cleaning the processing racks (LP7700/7900).

• Anti-contamination cover, a vinyl sheet or a cloth to cover the Color Developer tank
• Container (for receiving the solution dropping from the removed filter pipe)
• Container (for storing the removed reducing solution block)
Procedure

1. Wash the processing solution tanks.
