31. Solution (d) 142 – 6 = 190

132 + (12 × 5) = 192 Therefore, 252 should come in place of 248.
192 + (11 × 4) = 236
236 + (10 × 3) = 266 36. Solution (b)
266 + (9 × 2) = 284 42 – 12 = 30
30 × 2 = 60
284 + (8 × 1) = 292
60 – 12 = 48
Therefore, 236 should come in place of 238.
48 × 2 = 96
96 – 12 = 84
32. Solution (a) Therefore, 30 should come in place of 32.
72 × 5 = 360
360 + 10 = 370 37. Solution (c)
370 × 5 = 1850 4 × 5 + 1 = 21
5 × 6 + 2 = 32
1850 + 10 = 1860
6 × 7 + 3 = 45
1860 × 5 = 9300
7 × 8 + 4 = 60
Therefore, 1860 should come in place of
8 × 9 + 5 = 77
1880.
9 × 10 + 6 = 96
Therefore, 77 should come in place of 75.
33. Solution (e)
32 + 32 = 41 38. Solution (a)
41 + 52 = 66 132 + 22 = 136
66 + 72 = 115 136 – 33 = 109
109 + 42 = 125
115 + 112 = 236
125 – 53 = 0
236 + 132 = 405
0 + 62 = 36
Therefore, 405 should come in place of 415.
Therefore, 0 should come in place of 2.

34. Solution (a) 39. Solution (d)

119 + (9 × 9) = 200 17 × 1 + 7 = 24
200 – (9 × 7) = 137 17 × 2 + 7 = 41
17 × 3 + 7 = 58
137 + (9 × 5) = 182
17 × 4 + 7 = 75
182 – (9 × 3) = 155
17 × 5 + 7 = 92
155 + (9 × 1) = 164
17 × 6 + 7 = 109
Therefore, 155 should come in place of 156. Therefore, 92 should come in place of 94.

35. Solution (e) 40. Solution (b)

192 – 1 = 360 122 + 12 = 156
182 – 2 = 322 132 + 13 = 182
142 + 14 = 210
172 – 3 = 286
152 + 15 = 240
162 – 4 = 252
162 + 16 = 272
152 – 5 = 220 172 + 17 = 306

From I: x2 – 6x + 8 = 0
x3 = -512 x2 - 4x – 2x + 8 = 0
x = -8 x(x – 4) – 2(x – 4) = 0
From II: (x – 4)(x – 2) = 0
y2 + 13y + 40 = 0 x = 4, 2
y2 + 8y + 5y + 40 = 0
From II:
y(y + 8) + 5(y + 8) = 0
(y – 5)2 = 5 – y
(y + 8)(y + 5) = 0
y2 – 10y + 25 = 5 – y
y = -8, -5
y2 – 9y + 20 = 0

20%
Hence, option e.
69. Solution
Number of males living in city KOLKATA = 450 X 4/9
66-70. Solution
= 200
Let the population of cities PUNE and KOLKATA in
Number of females living in city KOLKATA = 400 -
2024 be 3x and 2x, respectively.
200 = 200
So the population of city DELHI in 2024 = 4x - 50
Desired ratio = 200:200 = 1:1
Population of city BHOPAL in 2024 = 0.60 X (4x - 50)
Hence, option a.
= 2.4x - 30
According to question: 3x - 2.4x + 30 = 150
70. Solution
0.6x = 120
Marked price of the article = Rs. 1800
x = 200
Selling price of the article = 1800 × 0.75 × 0.80 = Rs.
So the population of cities PUNE and KOLKATA in
1080
2024 is 600 and 400 respectively.
Cost price of the article = Rs. 1200
Population of city DELHI in 2024 = 4 X 200 - 50 = 750
So, loss percentage = [(1200 – 1080)/1200] × 100 =
Population of city BHOPAL in 2024 = 2.4 X 200 - 30 =

= Rs. 2592 And, l + 250 = 32x
Hence, option d. Or, 12x + 250 = 32x
Or, 20x = 250
73.Solution Or, x = 12.5
Ratio of profit shares of Manoj Kumar and Bhagat Speed of train = 12.5 × 18/5 = 45 km/h
Singh = (12000 X 12) :{(12 - k X 20000} = 36:(60 – 5k) Distance travelled by train in 7 hours = 45 × 7 = 315
Profit share of Manoj Kumar = 6100 - 2500 = Rs. km
3,600 Hence, option a.
ATQ;
{36/(60 – 5k) } = (3600/2500) 77. Solution
Or, 60 – 5k = 36 X (25/36) Let total amount of work = 144 units (LCM of 16 and
Or, 5k = 35 18)
Or, k = 7 Amount of work done by A in one day = 144/16 = 9
Hence, option b. units
Amount of work done by B in one day = 144/18 = 8
74. Solution units
Speed of the boat in still water = 150 ÷ 6 = 25 km/h Amount of work done by A and B together in 6 days
Speed of current = 25 X 0.2 = 5 km/h = 6 × 17 = 102 units
Therefore, upstream speed of the boat = 25- 5= 20 Remaining work = 144 – 102 = 42 units
km/hr Desired time = 42/8 = 5.25 days
Required time taken = 120 ÷ 20 = 6 hours Hence, option c.
Hence, option a.
78. Solution
75. Solution Let speed of stream = ‘m’ km/h
Let the savings of Doraemon be Rs. 'k' Speed of boat = (m + 14) km/h
So, expenditure of Doraemon = k X 1.3 = Rs. '1.3k' Upstream speed = m+ 14 – m = 14 km/h
Income of Doraemon = k + 1.3k = Rs. '2.3k' Downstream speed = m+ m + 14 = ‘2m + 14’ km/h
Amount spent on rent = 7800 According to question.
ATQ; 126/14 + 210/(2m + 14) = 14
1.3x X 0.20= 7800 Or, 210/ (2x + 14) = 5
Or, 0.26x = 7800 Or, 2x + 14 = 42
So, x = 20000 Or, x = 14
So, income of Doraemon = 20000 X 2.3 = Rs.46,000 Seed of boat = 14 + 14 = 28 km/h = 28 × 5/18 = 7.77
Hence, option a. m/s

Therefore, required ratio cannot be determined. km/hr…… (1)
Hence, option d. Downstream speed of boat = (x + p) = (88/11) = 8
km/hr……… (2)
80. Solution Adding equations (1) and (2), we get
According to the question, Speed of boat in still water = (8 + 8)/2 = 8 km/hr
m(1 + 20/100)2} = 2700 Time taken by boat to cover 64 km in still water =
Or, m = 2700/1.44 = 1875 64/8 = 8 hours
Sum invested at simple interest = (m+ 125) = Rs. Or, a = 8
2000 Quantity II:
Therefore, simple interest received = (2000 × 15 × M3 + 48 = 2245
5)/100 = Rs. 1500 Or, M3 = 2197
Hence, option d. Or y = 13
So, Quantity-I < Quantity-II
81. Solution Hence, option b.
According to the question,
Sum invested by ‘B’ = 2700/0.75 = Rs. 3600 84. Solution
Ratio of profits received by ‘A’ to ‘B’ Quantity I:
= (2700 × 8):(3600 × 3) = 2:1 Let the total work be 60 units.
Therefore, required profit received = 1800 × (3/1) = Efficiency of ‘Sanker’ = 60/10 = 6 units/day
Rs. 5400 Efficiency of ‘Shivam’ = 60/12 = 5 units/day
Hence, option d.

Efficiency of ‘Shiva’ = 60/15 = 4 units/day
Time taken by ‘Sanker’, ‘Shivam’ and ‘Shiva’ to
complete the work together = {60/(6 + 5 + 4)} = 4
days
Therefore, m= 4
Quantity II:
K = 96 ÷ 4 – 6
K = 18
Só, Quantity-I < Quantity-II.
Hence, option b.
