Abstract
The resource of fossil fuels are going to be decreased
immediately, therefore many research has been used to solve this
problem, such as the modification of diesel engine to dual fuel.
Dual fuel system is setting the gas into the combustion chamber
conformity with the air when the intake stroke by mixing both of
CNG and air in intake manifold. To compare the diesel fuel and
CNG consumption, it needs to know the heating value of each fuels.
The methods of heating value calculation are GPA Standard and
atomic composition of CNG. After obtaining the heating value, the
value of Low Explosive Limit and High Explotion Limit of CNG are
analysed to find out whether the fuel and oxygen is being covered
for combustion. The specification of Converter Kit’s components is
determined by the standard of CNG usage specification. For
experiments, the dieel fuel of engine doesn’t need to be substracted,
while the CNG can be added. Based on the results of experiments,
the diesel fuel can be subtituted by CNG upon 75%
