APPLICATION FOR COLLEGE ADMISSION

I. INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC

This time we will discuss about application for college admission: while
there are two application letters that you need to know the focus of this discussion is
an application of college admission we will discuss the different style of writing an
application for college admission and the different part of it which one heading,
date, address, salutation, body and complementary close.

II. DEFINITION OF TERMS

Heading- A line of text serving to indicate what the passage below it is about.
Date- Assign a date to; determine (Probable) date of;
Address- The place where a person or organization can be found or communicated
with.
Salutation- An act of honor or courteous recognition.
Body-
Complementary close- Conveying or resembling a compliment.

III. DISCUSSION OF THE TOPIC

COLLEGE APPLICATION LETTER


- Is a written by the students who wants to apply for the
course.

Style of writing
1. You must straight-forward and must appear professional.
2. You must clearly state your intent your qualifications and your relevant
experiences.
3. You must convince the intended reader you have something unique to offer.
4. Write your skills, talents, highlights the achievements in other clubs and civil
organizations.
5. Before sending your application letter double check it for grammatical error.

7 parts of Application letter

1. HEADING- a letterhead contains the following;company name,address,and contact


information
2. DATE- the date is the letter is sent
3. ADDRESS- this is the address of recipient the third and fourth lines are designated
for the actual address
4. SALUTATION- always punctuate the salutation of a business letter write a colon
instead of a comma
5. BODY- the introductory paragraph states the purpose of the letter
6. COMPLIMENTARY CLOSE-can vary in degrees of formality and is dependent upon
the relationships between the sender and recipient
7. SIGNATURE-a persons name written is a distinctive way as a form of identification
in authoring a documents or concluding a letter.

IV. EXERCISES/EXAMPLES

HEADING- Always include the recipients address when your writing a formal or
business letter heading.
DATE- You should write it in full with no abbreviations for example, “DEC 12, 2019”
Avoid abbreviation the mouth or using the numerical formal “12,12,2019”
ADDRESS- Whether you're ;sending a personal or business letter, you want to make
sure you're addressing it correctly so it arrives to its recipients additionally, you likely
want to avoid accidentally offending your recipient by using the wrong title.
Fortunately, addressing a letter correctly is a sample process. All you need is your
name and address, your recipients preferred title, and your recipient’s name and
address.
SALUTATION- You greeted them but no one returned our salutations.
BODY- The body is where you write the details of your business letter, Start with a
short introduction explaining why you are writing them.
COMPLIMENTARY CLOSE- Among the complimentary closes to choose from are:
Yours sincerely, Very sincerely yours, sincerely yours, sincerely Cordially, Most
sincerely.
SIGNATURE- The analysis concluded that the signature on the document was very
similar.
