I.

Introduce yourself

Hi. My name is Carolyne R. Lagutao. I am presently a 2 nd year BS Criminology student of Cavite State
University – Don Severino Dela Alas Campus in Indang, Cavite.

I was born and raised in the City of Manila but is now a resident of the city of General Trias here in
Cavite. I came from a working-class family and was inculcated with the values of education and hard
work. That is why I am working hard not only to finish my studies but to support not only myself but my
also my family.

I actively participate in school activities and push myself to be a vital cog in teams organized by my class.
Yes, I look at myself as a team player who is committed in not only helping myself achieve my goals but
my classmates as well. Yes, I am a person who works well under pressure. I balance my online school
and work by being organized and working towards my goals.

I believe I am a very resilient person who strives and works hard to get myself closer to my dreams of
becoming a policewoman. I do not let the hardships to overcome me and instead, view them as
challenges that I need to take on to excel in my studies as well as helping my family get by especially in
these times.

II. Why I should learn the fundamentals of investigation and intelligence

Learning the fundamentals of investigation and intelligence will help me learn the rights of both the
victims and the accused as well as the different procedures in crime scene investigation and the
application of forensic sciences, the principles of criminal law, evidence, and procedures. As a future
police officer, it is also important that I learn about the welfare of the victims, the basic concepts and
principles of criminal investigation and the principles of intelligence. Knowing all of these aspects would
enable me to not only efficiently accomplish as a law enforcer but also to rise from the ranks. Yes, I
intend to ensure the serving of justice and to live by the age-old credo of the police force to serve and
protect.
