The Solar System

The solar system is made up of the Sun and everything

that moves around it because of its gravity. This
includes eight planets, their moons, rocks called
asteroids, icy objects called comets, and smaller
planets like Pluto. It all started about 4.6 billion years
ago when a bunch of gas and dust came together.
Understanding the solar system helps us learn about
space and how everything around us formed.

The Sun
The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system.
It's a huge ball of hot gases that provides light and heat
to Earth and other planets. Through nuclear fusion, it
converts hydrogen into helium, releasing energy. It's
about 4.6 billion years old and will continue to shine
for billions more years.
The Planet
The planets are the main objects that orbit the Sun in
our solar system. There are eight planets: Mercury,
Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and
Neptune. They vary in size, composition, and features,
ranging from small, rocky worlds to gas giants with
rings and moons
