HOW TO SUMMARIZE

AND PRESENT YOUR

N.A.S DATA
NSTP 2
Using the provided Needs Assessment Survey questionnaire, take a survey
within your residential street/purok/phase/zone to at least 20 people coming from
different families within the scope area. Do not go beyond your target area.

Take note that you are only allowed to interview people who have reached the
legal age of 18 years old and above.

Follow proper protocol of securing your safety by not having physical contact with
your respondents. If possible, do the survey outside their gate/door.
Wear your mask, face shield, hand gloves and avoid lending your ballpen to other
people. Stand at least 2 meters away from your respondent while surveying.
After conducting the survey, it is time to gather and
tally the data collected.

Start with Part I (personal information).

Make a chart for every gathered information.

(examples on next slide)

In this example, the youngest respondent interviewed is 18 years old. While the oldest is 55 years old.\

You need to RANGE well the data to make an ordered presentation.

In this chart, We can see the distribution of the 20 respondents who answered based on gender.

This data has impact on the overall result of the survey.

After tallying the data for personal information from the ‘Age’ down to the
‘number of children’, proceed to Part II - Needs Assessment Survey.
TALLY THE DATA
- BELOW IS A SAMPLE TALLY & MEAN COMPUTATION OF THE ANSWERS FROM 20 RESPONDENTS FOR CONCERN A.
- EVERY RESPONDENT MUST HAVE A COUNTED RATING (1-5) FOR EVERY SUB-CONCERN. THUS, THE TOTAL COUNT OF
TALLY STICKS PER BOX SHOULD BE 20.

Score rating

*multiply the score rating to the

number of tally sticks under
them. Add and get the mean
score from 20 respondents.
Tally sticks
TP = (2x10) + (2x5) + (4x5)
20 + 15 + 20
55 / 20 = 2.75
ZWM = (4X7) + (5X13)
28 + 65
93 / 20 = 4.65
CA = 3X20 = 60/20 = 3.0
RS = (4X5) + (5X15)
20 + 75
95 / 20 = 4.75
CPW = 1X20 = 20/20 = 1.0
- repeat computation steps for Concerns B to F.

GRAPHICAL PRESENTATION OF DATA

- Using Charts or graphs, present the mean scores accordingly.

- You can insert a graph or chart and edit the data using PPT presentation.

- Use the same chart

type all throughout
concerns B down to
F.
- Based on the chart,
the concern that
needs priority is the
RS (4.75), while the
least is CPW (1.0).

OVERALL CHART FOR PART II QUESTIONNAIRE

Using the mean scores from Concern A-F, make the same type of chart to summarize the
respondents’ answers.
Step 1: Add the mean scores of every concern and divide them based on the total
number of sub-concerns.
(example: Concern A. Environmental Awareness

2.75 + 4.65 + 3.0 + 4.75 + 1.0 = 16.15 / 5 = 3.23

Let’s Assume the data. Compute for Mean.
Concern A = 2.75 + 4.65 + 3.0 + 4.75 + 1.0 = 16.15 / 5 = 3.23

Concern B = 3.1 + 4.3 + 2.87 = /3 = 3.42

Concern C = 1 + 2 + 3 + 2.1 + 3.2 + 2.3 +3.2 + 1.1 + 2.2 + 3.1 + 1.9 = /11 = 2.28

Concern D = 3.2 + 2.3 +3.2 + 1.1 + 2.2 = /5 = 2.4

Concern E = 2.75 + 4.65 + 3.0 + 4.75 = /4 = 3.79

Concern F = 2.75 + 4.65 + 3.0 + 4.75 + 3.2 = /5 = 3.67

*Up to two decimal places only*

Highest score.
Needs Priority.
Using the computed mean of every Concern, compare
them using chart/bar graph.
Lowest score.
Least Priority.

3.23 3.42 2.28 2.40 3.79 3.67

- Use powerpoint presentation to present all data
- Make sure to indicate labels, subheadings and headings of charts/graphs.
- Follow the computation based on the examples given.

God bless on your data gathering!
