CLASS-XI PHYSICS Time Allowed : 3 Hours Maximum Marks : 70 General Instructions : 1. All questions are compulsory. There are 37 questions in all. 2. This question paper has four sections : Section A, Section B, Section C and Section D. 3. Section A contains twenty questions of one mark each, Section B contains seven questions of two marks each, Section C contains seven questions of three marks each and Section D contains three questions of five marks each 4. There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in four questions of one mark each, one question of two marks, one question of three marks and all the three questions of five marks weightage. You have to attempt only one of the choices in such questions. a Fifteen minutes time has been allotted to read this question paper. During this time, you will only read the question paper and will not write anything in the answer script. Section-A 1. A physical quantity X is calculated from the relation be If the percentage error in ‘a’ is 2%, and that in ‘b’ is 6%, find the percentage error in X. 2. The displacement-time graph of a particle moving along a straight line, is as shown. Find the average velocity of the particle between time instants (t,) + (t,). — Displacement 0 tte Time — 3. Name the physical quantity that equals = (1) change in momentum (II) Rate of change of momentum 4. The power imparted by a variable force, to a moving object, is observed to remain constant with time. State the relation between the instantaneous value of the force and the velocity of the moving object. OR A mass M, initially at rest, is dropped from a height H. State the relation between the K.E. of the falling object and its subsequent height h ( T,), obtain expression for the temperature ‘T’ of the junction in steady state. OR Ls | (a) Equal volumes of two immissible liquids of densities p and 2p are filled in a vessel as shown in the figure. Two orifices are made at h | 3h depths 5 and > from the surface of the lighter liquid. If V, and vi V, are the velocities of efflux at the two orifices, find the ratio we (b) The cylindrical tube of a spray pump has radius R, one end of which has n fine holes, each of radius r. If the speed of the liquid in the tube is V, then show that speed of ejection V of the liquid from the holes is VR? / nr®. 136
