I have been experiencing in Thailand for about a

week. Vietnam and Thailand are two countries in the same year in Southeast Asia. Due to the
characteristics of natural conditions, ecological environment, characteristics of population,
and cultural characteristics ... these two countries have quite a lot of similarities.

Firstly, both Vietnam and Thailand are two countries with rich and diverse cuisines. Cuisine
in both countries has distinct characteristics of different regions, each region of each country
is a typical flavor. Vietnam has a culinary culture of 3 North – Central – South regions while
Thailand has a culture of 4 regions: North, Northeast, South, and Central. Dishes such as
Vietnamese mixed noodles – Pad Thai, bread, crab soup, sticky rice,...- show the similarity in
ingredients of the two colors of Vietnamese and Thai cuisine.

Secondly, in terms of other customs, both Thai tribes in Thailand and Vietnam have diverse
and rich festivals and practices according to their own long-standing cultural traditions. These
customs have all existed since ancient times and are maintained by ethnic groups today. For
example, in Thailand, there is the Water Festival (Songkran), the Phuket Vegetarian
Festival,.. in Vietnam there is the festival "Gióng", the festival "Bà Chúa Xứ",...

Last but not least, there are many similarities between Vietnamese and Thai Buddhism. For
example, in Thailand and Vietnam, there is charity in the spirit of Buddhism. Charity is not
only about giving a lot of material possessions but according to Buddhism, giving alms to the
dharma, loving words make people happy, people direct good, it is good deeds. This spirit of
charitable work is universal in all Buddhist countries. That is the very basic spirit of
Buddhism.

The cultures of both Thailand and Vietnam have attracted the attention of international
visitors to explore, are always highly appreciated by foreign tourists, it is impossible to
distinguish which country is better than the other because each country will have different
cultures and suit each person, The culture of a country is the expression of the national
identity, culture, customs, customs and religion of that country, through customs dishes are
messages sent to tourists of your country.
