By-Laws of Science Club

Article I - Name and Purpose


Section 1. The name of this organization shall be the Science Club.
Section 2. The purpose of the club shall be to promote interest and education in the various
fields of science through hands-on activities and other engaging events.

Article II - Membership
Section 1. Membership in the Science Club shall be open to all students at
____________________________________.
Section 2. Members are expected to attend meetings and participate actively in club activities.
Section 3. There shall be no membership fees.

Article III- Code of Conduct


Section 1: The Science Club is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful
environment for all members. This code of conduct outlines the expectations and
guidelines for behavior within the club.
Section 2: All members of the Science Club shall uphold the principles and behaviors within
the club.
Article IV - Discipline and Grievances
Section 1. Disciplinary Action
A. Members are expected to adhere to the club's Code of Conduct at all times. Violations
may result in disciplinary action.
B. Disciplinary actions may include verbal warnings, written warnings, temporary
suspensions, or permanent removal, with the club President, officers, and faculty
advisors deciding. Members can address concerns before final decision.
Section 2. Grievance Procedures
A. Members can file grievances or complaints about the club's operations, activities, or
leadership directly with involved parties.
B. If informally unresolved, they can submit a written complaint to the club President
and faculty advisor, who review and investigate. If unsatisfied, they can appeal to the
executive board.
Section 3. Removal of Officers
A. Club officers may be removed from their position for violations of the Code of
Conduct or failure to fulfill their duties.
B. Removal of an officer requires a two-thirds vote of the club membership present at a
regular meeting.
C. The officer in question will be given the opportunity to address the membership
before a vote is taken.

Article V – Member Performance Requirements


Section 1. Meeting Attendance. Members are required to attend 75% of regular club
meetings per academic semester, with excuses for academic conflicts or medical
issues at the club President's discretion. Failure to meet attendance may result in
disciplinary action, suspension, or removal.
Section 2. Participation in Club Activities
Members are expected to actively participate in at least three club events or
projects.

Article VI - Club Finances


Section 1. The club Treasurer manages the annual budget, which includes regular meetings,
special events, supplies and activities.
Section 2. The budget must be approved by the membership at the start of each school year.
All fundraising efforts must be approved by club officers and faculty advisors.
Section 3. The club's financial records are subject to periodic audits and the Treasurer
maintains accurate records.

Article VII: Dissolution


In the event of the club's dissolution, any remaining funds or assets shall be donated to a
relevant scientific organization or cause, as determined by the club officers.
