1. Preparation before installation
Abstract： This manual is suitable for FES type escalator installation.
1.1 Preparation and general requirements

Steps Contents
1 Pay attention to the following contents.

summary contents
Organization of men Before installation, organize installation men according to the safety
rules of local. The supervisors must organize men to be familiar with
all relevant documents which contain drawing relevant of installation,
technical documentation, and the main points of installation.
Re-checking Construction dimensions of the escalator, including lifting height,
construction span, dimensions of supporting beams and pit, especially the height
dimension and straight distance of supporting beams should be re-checked. If
these differ from those confirmed by both parties, negotiation should
be carried out with the owner.
Checking work before The supervisors must check all of parts and components and material
installation of installation, when there are problems, please feedback in time.
Access way, power Negotiation should be carried out with the owner about the access
and construction zone way and power and construction zone. And safety guard must be
erected around the construction zone.
Safety standard on Installation personnel must dress in work clothes and shoes and
site hard-hat and safety belt before coming into the construction zone，
and all of installation personnel must comply with rules of local.
Warning！
Construction site must be surrounded with the Notice device.

Comply with the safety standard of local.
Dress in work clothes, shoes, and hard-hat and safety belt and etc.
Make sure there is not any piping, wire or lighting fixture suspended from top of the
building.
Sufficient illumination must be provided on installation site.

2. Lifting and shipping of escalator
Abstract： The escalator assembled in factory can be transported to site in whole units or
sectionalized.
NOTICE！
When re-checking the construction dimension，the height of the span must be coincide
with the construction layout drawing. The owners offer the nominal height, so that we
can calculate the thick of the steel. The sides are lower 5-10mm than the ground which
has been decorated, and then adjust them freely.
When rejoin the escalator, attention must be paid to the combination sign writing on the
truss coincident.
2.1 Joining the truss
Steps and method：

Steps Methods.
1 When joining, the two pieces of metallic frame should be drawn close slowly
avoid collision of the guide rails.
2 Fix the neighboring metallic frame pieces with the pin
3 Insert two M24 and five M16 high-strength bolts and fast the spring washers and
flat washes and nuts.
4 Combination of high-strength bolts with dynamoelectric wrench。
Notice：torque of bolt：M16 bolt is 250±30Nm；
M24 bolt is 550±50Nm.

2.2 Lifting and shipping
2.2.1 Steps and method
Notice！
When lifting the escalator, the hitch positions can only be located at the lifting
devices on two edges and the sectionalized positions of the escalator Collision of
the other parts are prohibited. During pulling and raising the escalator, stressing at
the other position should be avoided.
Step Method.
1 Put the rope into the hoisting hook.
Notice：Collision of the other parts is prohibited.
2 On the safety condition, lifting and position.

When lifting the escalator in sectional, please see the following figure. It is the lifting tool.

Notice！
The route of transportation of the escalator has to be kept always unblocked and clean.
The dimensions of height and width along the route shall meet requirements.
The loading capabilities of ground and temporary cover-plates shall meet requirements
and shall be reinforced if necessary. Predetermined auxiliary materials shall be ready.
The completed and uneven floor shall be covered with plank.
The hitch positions of the escalator shall be provided with specified loading capability and
shall be located at correct position.
The loading capability of floor must be assure.
Concerning pedestal of escalator frame, loading requirements specified in construction
layout drawing should be ensured to be satisfied.
Pedestal surface should be even, clean and level.
2.2.2 Lifting the escalator
Notice！
Pay attention to the upper and down direction and the installation sequence.
Safety precautions and working plan must be ready.
2.2.2.1 In case of floor cover and the fixed hitch existence, the down-lift procedures of the
escalator are shown as the diagram below. (When lift the escalator in the whole units)

1 Flat car or other sag device is put under the transportation footing of the escalator.
Hoist or other device is used to suspend the escalator by the steel wire rope. (A)
2 The escalator is drawn slowly to the floor opening and is hung with the steel wire
rope through the floor opening.（B）
3 When reaching the position, put down the escalator through the floor opening.
Meanwhile, the escalator is suspended with the steel wire rope. (C)

4 Pull the escalator to the space above the proper position. (D)
5 Lay down the escalator and mounted it at the appointed position, and remove the
lifting device. (E)

2.2.2.2 In case of floor cover and the fixed hitch existence, the up-lift procedures of the
escalator are shown as the diagram below. (When lifting the escalator in the whole units)
Steps Methods
1 Flat car or other sag device is put under the transportation footing of the
escalator，hoist or other device is used to suspend the escalator with the steel
wire rope, drawing it slowly to the floor opening and hanging it with the steel wire
rope through the floor opening. (A)
2 Lift up the escalator slowly with the steel wire rope（B）
3 Pull the passenger to the space above the proper position. (C)
4 Lay down the escalator and mount it at the appointed position and then remove
the lifting device. (D)

2.2.2.3 When the escalator is rejoining in the air, the procedures are seen as follows.（take
example for the four sections escalator）
Before lifting，check whether the straight dimensions between the cement poles and
the pit and the straight of the two cement poles on the supporting beams are coincide
with the construction layout drawing or not.
When lifting the escalator sectionalized, the hitch positions can only be located at t the
sectionalized positions of the escalator and lifting the escalator with two steel ropes.
If the condition is allowed，rejoin the two lowest pieces of metallic frames on the floor.
After lifting the lowest section or the two lowest sections, adjust the level of the
escalator by the bolt of the diagram F on the reference of the pit. And then lifting the
other sections in turn, and adjusting the level.
After lifting and position, do not remove the hoists immediately, and draw all the hoists
in the same time, and then the escalator is raised so that the pressure on the splices
can be eliminated.

Warning ！
Joining the metallic frames only when join the escalator in the air.
Before lifting, checking whether the pallets chain is ok or not.
Safety guard must be erected around the construction site.
When joining the escalator must have the auxiliary scaffolds and them meet the
standard and are safety.
Steps Methods
1 Before lifting，check whether the straight dimensions between the cement poles
and the pit and the straight of the two cement poles on the supporting beams are
coincide with the construction layout drawing or not.（A）
2 Flat car or other sag device is put under the transportation footing of the
escalator. Hoist or other device is used to suspend the escalator by the steel wire
rope. Drawing it slowly to the floor opening and hanging it with the steel wire
rope through the floor opening. (B)
3 Pull the escalator to the space above the appointed position. (C)
4 Hoist the neighboring metallic frame pieces, should draw close to been mounted
metallic frame pieces slowly avoid collision of the guide rails. Control the
distance and speed of escalator moving via hoist or other device. After rejoin the
truss, adjust the level of truss via the bolt on the supporting beams. (D)
5 Lift other metallic frame pieces in turns, rejoin and adjust the level. After lifting
and position, do not remove the hoists immediately, and draw all the hoists in the
same time, and then the escalator is raised so that the pressure on the splices
can be eliminated. (E)

2.3 Adjusting the level of the escalator
After lifting and position the escalator, adjust the escalator again on the base of adjustment
that has been done on the lifting section.
After positioning of escalator, metal truss is adjusted to level position by adjusting bolt of
supporting angle steel.
NOTICE OF ADJUSTMENT!
The levelness of metallic frame can be measured either with bubble spirit level placed on
the rear side of comb plate, or with transit.
During adjustment, the middle four screws should be loosened temporarily and the
escalator will be adjusted to level with the two screws at both sides.
Then the middle four screws should be tightened until they touch the supporting steel
plate (see the following diagram).
When transit is used, put its scale perpendicular to the rear side of comb plate and adjust
the level of metallic frame to specified range, and this is the first adjustment.
Adjust the levelness of the escalator on the line section of truss.
After tension of steps chain, there is an extractive adjustment in the standard of the first
level step of upper and down ends.
If readjustment of height and other distances is needed, it should be performed on the
condition that above-mentioned levelness is maintained.

NOTICE！
When the escalator is transported to the site sectionalized, cable is laid on the upper
escalator. After rejoining all metal truss together, loose cable and send them to bottom
machine room control box along the truss and fix them, and insert the plug into the
sockets on the bottom machine control room according to indication mark.
More and more than two parataxis escalator, the ends of upper and down metal truss
align when position, the gap of outer decking is coincident with construction layout
drawing. If not, negotiation should be carried out with the owner in advance and
guarantee the gap is coincident.

2.4 The intermediate support of the escalator
Notice！
If the escalator has intermediate support, it can enforce the strength and loading ability of
escalator
Adjust the intermediate support after lifting and position the metallic frames.
The intermediate supports connect with the truss via the bolts 4, and adjust it by nut 2 and
bolt 3.
When the escalator has the antisimic supports, the intermediate support should be
welded on site. And must meet the requirement of construction layout drawing.

The method of adjusting:

1 1、 On the base of the line connecting two points of lining section（① and ②）
2、 Adjusting the bolt and nut of the intermediate supports and make sure that
the point ③ is on the line connecting point ① and ②
3、 Fasten nut.
4、 If need measure, move the line connecting point ① and ② same and then
adjusting the intermediate supports as described before.

2.5 Rejoining the disassemble guide rail and steps chain
After positioning of the escalator, rejoin the disassemble guide rail and steps chain.
No Contents.
1 Connect the guide rail with connecting plate and bolt.
Notice：If the joint is uneven, it should be filed to smooth, it demands the gap is
0.2/500mm by rulers
2 Joining steps chain：Install the main shaft and shaft sleeve of step and clamping ring
on the step chain via spring pin connect the broken chain with connecting pin and
retaining spring.
3 After joining the guide rail and steps chain, check and make sure that they are
safety.

3. Tension of steps chain
Abstract：Steps chain should be tensioned before installation of other parts as shown in the
following diagram.
Notice！
Since the escalator has been pre-mounted in factory and the tension force is determined.
Press the compressing spring to length “L” (written on the angle steel) is only needed to be
performed on site.
The length of “L” is about 160mm～180mm（including spring pad）.
After tensioned the step chain, the gap between nylon block and the step guiding device
in the horizontal part should be checked. And make sure that the gap on one side is less
than 0.8mm, the total gap of the both sides is less than 1.5mm, if it does not meet the
conditions please adjust the step guiding device according to the step 3.1.

3.1 Method of adjusting the step guiding device
The step guiding device had been installed in workshop. You need to check the gap between nylon
block and the step guiding device in the horizontal part.
If you have to adjust the step guiding device: the FES302 and FES352 should remove 3 steps , the
FES303 should remove 4 steps before adjust.
Run the blank to the horizontal segment where the step guiding device installed
Loosen the bolts and move the step guiding device to the right location
Tighten the bolts, run the escalator and observe the running situation

4. Assembling handrail system
Abstract：The clamp seats of balustrade have been adjusted in factory, and the clamp profiles
have been connected with the clamp seats by bolts, so the clamp profiles need not
to be adjusted. All the clamping seats are welded to truss and they are sites of other
assembling

Cover the movable decking of upper and bottom machine room and avoid man fall
in before assembling the glass panels.
Assembling outer decking before mounting glass panels.
Attention to assembling glass panels: The length and number of fitting glass
panels is determined according to the escalator.
4.1 Assembling handrail glass panels
The length and number of the fitting glass panels and the number of the standard glass
panels is decided by the contract. And the fitting glass panels are installed the upper of the
lining section.
First assemble lower head glass panel at the reversing station, then the lining glass panels
2 and 3(fitting section), and then upper head glass panel at the drive station at last.

4.1.1Assembling lower curved end glass panel
Put the center washer in the clamp profile at the clamp seats. At the joint position of the
panels, there must be a pad under each panel（see the following diagram 4-2）
After the pads have been put into the clamp profile, lift the head glass panel with a suction
pick-up, and put it into the clamp profile slowly. The rectangle side of panel must be in line
with the mark on the clamp profile.

Adjustment of lower curved end glass panel：
Guarantee that the rectangle side of the curved glass panel is perpendicular to the clamp
panel with a rectangle ruler or eyes;
If necessary, the glass panel can be adjusted a few millimeters by rising the front
edge or the rear edge of it;

，
Tighten clamp seat and tighten all screws on the clamps. Don t screw down clamp seat nut
on the joint of the either of glass panel;
Check with angle ruler 3 whether the glass panel is vertical. (If necessary, insert pads
between glass panel and clamp profile.)

Notice ！
Mount 2 U-type rubber pads on joint edge of the panel to protect panels from damage.
These rubber pads automatically provide the 2mm gap between the panels. The rubber
pads can be cut from U-type which can be transported to site following escalator. And the
length of each rubber pad is about 20mm.
When installation and adjustment is finished, please remove all rubber pads.
4.1.2 Assembling the second glass panel

Steps Methods
1 Put the center washer in the clamp profile at the clamp seats. At the joint position
of the panels, there must be a pad under each panel
2 Lay the glass panel in the clamp profile vertically with a suction pick-up and move it
near the glass panel pre-mounted.
3 Fasten one of the clamp seats that are about at the position of the middle parts of
the balustrade.
4 Check whether the glass panels are vertical or not. ( If necessary, insert pads as
described in 4.1.1)
5 Fit 2 rubber pads at the joint panels.
Notice ！
Remain panels are mounted as described in 4.1.2.
The gap between the glass panels is no more than 2mm. And guarantee the gap in upper
and lower coincident.
Keep a constant check whether the gap between two panels is vertical to the clamping
profile and parallel. When all the panels are mounted, clamp the remaining clamp seats;
Tightening torque: MA=35-40Nm (for clamp seats on the line section)
MA=15-20Nm (for clamp seats on the head section)

Warning ！
After assembling all the glass panels, please fasten the head end section of two ends at
first and then adjust the panels on the middle of the truss upward and downward. But
guarantee that the transition of the neighboring panels is equal and then fasten all the
clamping seats.
4.2 Assembling handrail guide rail
4.2.1 The feature of handrail guide rail
The handrail guide rails are cut to length in factory, re-burred and with all holes drilled

Steps Methods.
1. Assemblies of the lower curved end section at reversing
Assemble the lower part of station and the upper curved end section at the drive
the curved end section station.
2. Using clamping tool, clamp the double-faced mucus to
the glass panel in the front of the end clamp seat firmly;
3. First, as described in detail I, insert the link block 1 into
the guide profile, fix the screw 2 and nut 3, and then fix
the screw 4 and nut 5 as described in detail II.
4. Knock handrail guide rail with rubber-hammer or
wooden-hammer slightly, guarantee them mounted onto
the glass panels, and then fasten the bolts. (see following
diagram）
Lower curved section 1. Stick the double-faced mucus to the glass panel.
2. Position the curved section vertically on the glass panel
correctly, and join it with the curved end section already
mounted.（see diagramⅠ）Insert the link block 1 in the
guide and fix screw 2 and nut 3;
The straight section 1. Stick the double-faced mucus to the glass panels.
2. Mount the entire straight section on, and tap them with
rubber hammer or wooden hammer, ensure that the
guides are just lying on the glass panels.
3. Mount the joint connections as shown below. (see
diagramⅠ）

When assembling handrail guide rail, stick the double-faced mucus to the joint of glass
panels;
The length of any double-faced mucus is 200mm; connect the neighboring glass panels
by double-faced mucus. Stick 3 or 4 pieces double-faced mucus on each glass panel, and
make sure that the gap of neighboring pieces is equal.
The transition position of two-balustrade support profile must be smooth and ridge-free. If
not, make flat by slipper. The gap between handrail guide rails is no more than 0.5mm. If
necessary, adjusting the head handrail guide rail slightly.
In order to ensure that the straight part is guided parallels with the glass panel, please do
not knock or twist the guide. Check whether it is sitting correctly along its length.
When assembling of handrail guide rail is finished, clean the exposed double-faced
mucus.
4.3 Assembling handrail
4.3.1 Handrail feature
Since the handrail is consists of one-piece continuous rubber section mixed with steel
ropes manufactured specifically for the passenger conveyor, its strength is high and so it is
suitable for a high tension
4.3.2 Cleaning of the handrail
Dirty or unsightly handrails should be cleaned as fellows:
Use a cloth soaked in water with a litter washer-up detergent (do not use washing powder)
rub the top of the handrail vigorously. Heavily soiled areas should be rubbed repeatedly
until the handrail shines again when wiped down with a dry cloth.

No matter what condition, gasoline or solvents containing gasoline are not allowed, talcum
is forbidden.
4.3.3 Assembling handrail
To the multi-pieces escalator, the handrails are always circled in the upper piece; they are
expanded as lower diagram after the joint of the multi-pieces. Lay the handrails on the
guide rollers between balustrade and skirting.
Check whether the handrail is sitting properly all the way around. If not, adjust the handrail
immediately.

After assembling of the handrail guides, mount the handrails on the handrail guides starting
from lower and upper head section.
Fit the handrails over the guide section on one side, lever and pull them into position on the
other side using an assembling tool.
After assembling the handrail of upper and lower section, and then assemble from upper to
lower (loose the tension plate if the handrail is too tight)

4.3.4 Adjustment of handrail tension
The handrail should be tensioned until the sag between two supporting rollers at 1200mm
is 5~10mm freely, this sag should be measured after the handrail travels in the upward
direction (approx. one full cycle)

4.3.5 Adjustment of pressure belts tension
Loose the nut 2, adjust the compressing spring 3, and then the length “L” of compressing
spring is about 40mm (including spring pad 3).

4.3.6 Handrail testing run（longitudinal adjustment）
Notice！
If do not run the handrail immediately after assembling handrail, please assemble the head
inner decking. And disassemble the pre-mounted head inner decking when running the
escalator next time.
If testing the escalator immediately after assembling the handrail, make sure that the
escalator is safe. Only that running the escalator is permitted.
For the first adjustment, the handrail is only permitted to move in the downward direction
This time the direction of movement is upward, opposite to first time.

Steps and methods of adjusting in the downward direction

Steps Methods.
1 The diverted roller sets and the handrail tension sets have been adjusted in
factory, so slight adjustment is necessary here.
2 Adjustment of handrail tension device（see 4.3.6.1）
3 Adjustment of diverted roller set and segment support sets.(see 4.3.6.2）
4 Adjustment of handrail pressure roller device(see 4.3.6.3）
Notice：Any slight friction is permitted between the handrail and either side
of the rollers, but pressure is forbidden.
5 Adjustment of handrail (see 4.3.6.4）
4.3.6.1 The handrail tension sets
Adjust the nut 5 on the screwed pole 3, tension the handrail 1 via moving the tension
device 6 left and right. At last fasten all bolt and nut sets. And then adjust bolt 7 to touch
with the truss.

4.3.6.2 The diverted roller sets
Bolt 1 is still in the tension state (as revolves supporting point)
Adjust the diverted roller sets inner or outer until the handrail move in the center of the
reversing chain.

4.3.6.3 Adjusting handrail rollers device
Loose the bolt and then adjust handrail by the position of compressing roller.
Attention: any slight friction is permitted between the handrail and either side of the rollers,
but pressure is forbidden.

4.3.6.4 Adjusting handrail
If the handrail still touches the rollers despite the adjustment, further lateral correction is

possible by adjusting the ball bearing of roller. The ball bearing and the handrail can be
adjusted as required by loosening nut.

4.3.6.5 Second adjustment
This time the direction of movement is upward, opposite to first time.

4.3.6.6 Handrail anti-static roller device
Handrail anti-static roller 1 made of Aluminum alloy is fixed on the straight section of lower
corner. When the escalator is running and the anti-static roller touches to handrail 2，and
then remove the static of movement.

4.3.6.7 Check downward travel
When the second adjustment procedure in the upward direction is completed, the direction
of travel is again reversed and the adjustment of the first procedure checked
If the lateral play in the handrail is still too great, further adjustment should be made again
as described.
Good handrail travel indicators:1）、Minimum lateral movement on change of direction；2）、
No lateral pressure as it runs onto friction wheel；3）、Runs centrally in the middle of the
balustrade reversing chain.
4.3.6.8 After-check
After 20 hours operation, the adjustment should be checked again. Slighted
position-adjustment may be necessary after running in this period. These should be done
as described.

5. Assembling outer and inner decking
Warning ！
Cover the movable decking of top and bottom machine room and avoid man falling
in before assembling outer decking.
Assembling inner decking according to the head decking.
5.1 Installation of inlaid profile strips

5.2 Outer decking
Assemble outer decking before assembling handrail balustrade
Since all outer decking have label indication on the reverse faces, so assemble outer
decking according to label indication in sequence

5.2.1 Assemble outer decking

Steps Methods
Lower curved Assemble the inner decking coincident, insert the outer decking into the
section inlaid profile strip, and the rear of outer decking is coincident with inner
decking.
Notice：After assembling lower head section, disassembling the
corresponding inner decking, and then assembling glass panels easily.
Straight section Insert the section into the inlaid profile strip, and then push it toward the
former section.
Remain section The method of assembling the other straight section is same as
assembling straight section.
Upper curved Insert the section into the inlaid profile strip, and then push it toward the
section former section.

Warning ！
Pay particular attention to the joints. Sure that there is no gap on joint；
Ensure that the transitions always clean and free of ridges，the ridge is less than 0.2 mm，
the gap is no more than 0.3mm。
If necessary, sections can be tapped into propriety position with a rubber mallet.
Ensure that the joint between sections is properly interlocked.
Guarantee that the distance between the outer edge of the outer decking and the glass
panels are 173mm and make sure the vertical and pumbless.
Fix the each outer decking immediately after assembling it.
5.2.2 Fixture of outer decking
Outer decking is fixed with the truss by supporting parts 4, the truss has been welded
connection plate. Puts the supporting parts 4 on the directional part 2, adjust the position of
supporting parts, and then fasten the bolt, and then fix the outer decking

Every outer decking will be with the holes for rivet in factory, please fix the outer decking

and outer cladding by rivet after finishing the installation of outer decking and outer
cladding (refer to below sketch)
5.3 Inner decking
Assembling inner decking after assembling handrail balustrade.
Since all decking have stick label indication on the reverse faces, so assemble decking
according to label from lower to upper in sequence
Connect the neighboring decking with joint pieces.

5.3.1 Assemble inner decking
The installation method is same as outer decking installation.
Warning ！
Particular attention must be paid to the exact fit of the joints. Sure that there is no gap on
joint；
ensure that the transitions always clean and free of ridges，the ridge is less than 0.2 mm，
the gap is not more than 0.3mm.
5.3.2 Fixture of inner decking
Inner decking is connected with skirting 2 via stainless steel screw 4 and joint 3.

5.4 Assembling handrail entrance device
1. Before installing head decking, handrail has been installed completely. Shown as
up-and-right figure, parts have been installed completely except connecting part (8) and
screw (7) and bolt (10). Slightly adjust supporting part (3) left-and-right, and then guarantee
that the handrail is on the center of protective block (1), bolts do not fasten completely.
2. Install inner head panel (5). Connect with part (8) and part (5) by bolt (10), and lean inner
decking (5) against the head skirting (9), screw nut (6) and do not fasten them.
3. Slightly adjust part (1) up-and-down and part (3) front-and-rear, guarantee that entrance
surface of protective block (1) and decking (5) is coplanar, and make part (8) sticks part (3),
fasten bolt (2) and (4), fasten handrail entrance device.
4. Fasten connecting part (12) on the outer panel (13) by bolts, draw inner panel (5) out and
lock with outer panel (13), and lean them against head decking and supporting part (3),
fasten nut (6), fasten part (8) and (11) by screw (7) and screwed plate (11), and then inner
panel (5) has been fastened.

5. Outer decking (14) and part (15) stick with AB glue in factory, part (16) connects with part
(15) by bolts, and nut do not be fastened and then the part (16) can be moved. Adjust fixed
part (16) through the opening of glass, make sure the block on it insert into the groove of
outer panel (13) and lock, and then the outer panel is fixed.
6. Part (17) stick with part (18) with AB glue on factory, lean inner decking (17) against the
skirting (9), push inner decking inward, and then the block on inner decking insert into the
groove of inner panel (5).
7. Fix inner decking with skirting by screws, and then installation work finish.

Notice ！
During assembling, guarantee that the handrail is in the middle of protective block.
And then push protective block, it can act smoothly.
After assembling, guarantee that the length of four compressing springs is coincident.
6. Testing of the escalator
Abstract： Before testing the escalator, pay attention to the safety items.
Steps Contents
1 Pay attention to the protective works on site, a warning board should be erected
around the escalator entrances. And there is no other installation company.
2 Clean the construction site, clean the dirty from the surface and cove of steps,
and disassemble the comb.（assembling re-cleaned steps when checking in
downward direction）.
3 Because of UV380v on working, pay highly attention to the safety operation;
Before connecting the power, checking whether the preliminary works is
sufficiency.
4 Check the junction, the installation and junction of electronic components on
control box and maintenance box according to relevant drawings and if they are
coincident with the type of control box and operation requirement. Check the
installation of the electronic components on control box and maintenance box
and the quality of wiring meet requirement or not. Check whether the power is
short or not. All electronic components must be safe and avoid accident.
5 There is a maintenance socket on bottom and upper ground floor. When running
on maintenance, a maintenance socket is jumped out.
6 All power switches are on the position of OFF before the power is connected.
Check voltage after power is connected. If it is normal, connecting the main
switch, checking voltage of other switches.
7 Check the sag of drive chain between the drive unit and drive shaft. In general,
the sag has been readjusted in factory. The lolling of loosen side is 10-15mm on
the position of adjusting justly.

8 Motor has been pre-lubricated in factory. And check the oil level. And check
whether the drive chains need to be lubricated.
9 Check the tension of drive chain and steps chain broken device, and adjust the
switches.
Warning！
Avoid falling on from upper and bottom machine room without glass panels;
Cut main switches and safety device off when checking as the upper described.
Guarantee that the safety switches are on normal position and their functions are
normal.
It is forbidden to stand on the escalator with disassembling steps when testing the
escalator.
Forbid adjusting the escalator by some people on some position on the same time.
Operate the escalator by adjustor himself when testing the escalator.
Make sure that the main power and the emergency stop switches have been cut when
adjusting the escalator on interior.

7. The movable decking

7.1 Assemble the moveable decking
Abstract ：The escalator has been installed in the finished building in level, so guarantee the
movable decking in level. The front piece lies behind the comb plate guarantee
that the gap between them is 6mm, and fixed the limit stop to avoid the forward
moving of the movable decking. The gap must be guaranteed, otherwise
distance that comb centered set moves back when something strange in it will
be influenced.
The steps and methods of installation and adjustment

Steps Methods
1 Check the levelness of decking between comb plate and building with a level gauge.
2 Stick it to the frame of the movable decking with rubber strip and screw special bolts
(for open the decking use) in the decking
3 Fit it in position, then screw bolts out, at last screw bolts of the decking in the decking
4 Through adjusting the height of bolts, we can adjust the level about movable decking
and building floor.
5 After adjusting, fasten the bolts of the supporting angle firmly

Notice！
When sticking the rubber strip to the side framework, clear oil in the surface of the side
framework and stick them together with double-faced mucus
Adjusting the height of bolts for the levelness of the movable decking surface and the floor
and guarantee that all bolts bear stress equably.

7.2 Inspection switch

1） Connect clamping plate and fixed bracket by bolt sets, but do not fasten bolt sets.
2） When the escalator run normally, the gap of clamping plate and switch is about 8.5mm,
and the switch can not act.
3） When opening the movable decking, clamping rotate around bolt, and then the switch
act, the escalator stop work.

8. Skirting brush
It is fixed at left and right skirting panel to cover the gap between steps and skirting in order
to avoid possible risk caused by the gap.
The safety brushes are inserted into the clamping shape steel pre-mounted on the skirting
by rivet.
The safety brushes guarantee the passengers must stand near the middle of the step of
the escalator and guarantee the passengers safety.
