Europa-Park
Europa-Park is a very interesting theme park. Its creator, Franz Mack, took over the family business in
engineering after WWII. After seeing other theme parks on a trip to the USA in 1972, this inspired him to
create his own! Europa-Park opened on 12 July 1975 in Germany and today thousands of visitors are
thrilled to visit the park each year.
There’s so much to see and do at Europa-Park! Visitors can see themed areas that look like different
parts of the world and learn about those countries. They can also experience the thrill of the many rides
and roller coasters at the park.
In spring and summer, Europa-Park is open from 9 am until at least 6 pm every day of the week, but
check the website for changes in the hours if you are going in autumn or winter. You can buy tickets on
the website before you go, or pay for them at the door when you arrive. You are sure to have an exciting
day at this fun theme park!

Drayton Manor Theme Park

Lots of people think that Drayton Manor must be quite new because of all of the modern rides and roller
coasters it has got. However, this amazing theme park opened back in 1950.

Before they opened Drayton Manor theme park, there was a huge house on the land. But after world
War II, two businesspeople, George and Vera Bryan bought the land and opened a small amusement
park for children. Then four years later, in 1954, they also added a zoo to the park.
Through the 1960s, 70s and 80s, the park grew slowly adding a few more rides and more animals, but in
the 90s, it added some bigger rides for adults, too. These rides included a stand-up roller coaster, one of
the UK’s best water rides and the world’s first stand up tower drop rides. Today, the park is bigger than
ever before with a 4-star hotel and a campsite with caravans and luxury tents.
The theme park is open from 10 am-5 pm every day of the week in the winter months, but sometimes
can open even earlier in the summer. You can check the website for the latest opening hours and can
buy your tickets there, too. In fact, some people even like to buy season tickets so they can go back as
many times as they like. It’s definitely a great place to spend a day out!
