COURSE PROJECT
In experiential learning, students engage with Kolb’s learning cycle, where their learning outcomes are
assessed at each phase. During the active experimentation phase, students undertake project work
focusing on real-world problem-solving and the application of learned concepts. Two paradigms of
assessment are employed of the course project i.e., “Assessment for learning” and “Assessment of
learning”.
a. Precedent Study: It involves the examination of past examples to inform the current project's
direction. It carries 25 points.
b. Literature Survey: It requires students to delve into scholarly works and existing research,
providing a contextual foundation for their projects. It carries 50 points.
c. Project Design: Learning groups are tasked with presenting the experimental design undertaken for
the course project, emphasizing clarity in objectives and methodologies. It carries 75 points.
d. Project Implementation: It focuses on the practical execution of the project, where students put
their ideas into action and test them in real-world settings. It carries 75 points.
e. Project Report: Learning groups shall submit a comprehensive report of the course project. This
component necessitates a thorough documentation of the research, findings, and outcomes derived from
the project's implementation. It carries 75 points.
In the preceding stage, students' practical skills were assessed during the project work period. At the
culmination, the overall skill set shall be evaluated for 200 points using the following techniques:
a. Project Demonstration: Learning groups shall demonstrate the project undertaken during the
course. It emphasizes the practical application and effectiveness of the project's outcomes, allowing
students to showcase their achievements and problem-solving abilities. It is evaluated by an external
examiner for 75 points.
b. Project Presentation: Learning groups shall demonstrate the project undertaken during the course. It
provides an opportunity for students to articulate their project findings, methodologies, and conclusions
clearly and compellingly, demonstrating their communication and presentation skills. It is evaluated by
an external examiner for 75 points.
c. Creativity and Innovation: Evaluated for 25 points, this element assesses the originality and
ingenuity demonstrated in the project's design, implementation, and outcomes, encouraging students to
explore innovative solutions and approaches
d. Community Impact: Evaluated by an external examiner for 25 points, it measures the project's
influence and contributions to the broader community or relevant stakeholders. It underscores the
importance of socially responsible and impactful projects that address real-world needs and challenges.
