LARGE OWL
BODY
Using 5mm needles and Tinsel Chunky cast on 8sts
Working in st.st throughout and starting with a knit
row :-
Row 1: Increase in every stitch to end (16sts)
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Increase in every stitch to end (32sts)
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: Increase in every stitch to end (64)
Row 6: Purl
Work 46 rows without shaping
Row 53: *K2tog, repeat from * to end (32sts)
Cast off.
EYES (make two)
Using 3mm needles and DK yarn cast on 7sts
Working in g.st throughout:-
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: K1, M1, knit to last stitch, M1, K1 (9sts)
Repeat rows 1 and 2 to 17sts
Work 7 rows without shaping
Row 18: K1, K2tog, knit to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
(15sts)
Row 19: Knit
Repeat last two rows until 7sts remain
Cast off.
FEET (make two)
Using 3mm needles and DK yarn cast on 30sts
Working in g.st throughout:-
Work 2 rows
Row 3: *K5, cast off 20sts, k4sts
Row 4: K5, turn, cast on 20sts, knit to end
Work 2 rows*
Repeat from * to * once. You will now have three
toes altogether
Cast off.
BEAK
Using 3mm needles and DK yarn, cast on 9 stitches
Working in st.st throughout:-
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: K2tog, knit to last 2sts K2tog (7sts)
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: K2tog, knit to last 2sts K2tog (5sts)

Leaving enough yarn to sew up beak break off
yarn, thread through remaining 3sts and secure

BEAK Using tinsel yarn sew up body seam leaving cast
Work as for large owl on edge open, stuff body and close opening.
SMALL OWL Eyes: Place cast off edges together side by side,

Using 5mm needles and Tinsel Chunky cast on 8sts side of the work creating a slight “ridge” down
Working in st.st throughout and starting with a knit centre of eye seam. Using contrast yarn and

EYES (make two) Feet: Fold feet in half and sew together around
