PROVIDING

INSTRUCTION

How do you match students’
learning needs and learning styles
to your teaching styles? Give a
concrete example.

I would observe the learning

preferences and hobbies of the
students first. Then, I will try to
integrate their hobbies into their
activities for them to be able to enjoy
and relate to the topic while still
learning. For instance, if the grade 1
students enjoy arts and my subject to
teach is science, I would let them draw
their favorite part of the body in the
most creative way. In this way, they
would enjoy what they’re doing while
learning about the parts of the body.
What accommodations and
modifications can you do as a
prospective teacher to ensure active
participation and learning among
students with difficulties?

I would consistently monitor the progress

of each child, and accommodations would
be tailored to individual students, while
modifications would be applied to the class
as a whole. For example, if a child
experiences challenges in submitting
assignments on time due to a learning
disability, I would provide that student
with extra time as an accommodation.
Conversely, for a modification, if I aim to
simplify the language in reading to make it
more comprehensible for the entire class, I
would implement that adjustment. This
approach ensures that all students can
enjoy, learn, and actively participate in all
the activities in my class.
