Cutting Tools

1. cold chisel - is constructed of tempered steel with a beveled cutting edge and sufficient strength, used to form, chip, or cut
cold metal.

2. copper tube cutter - is designed to cut both hard and soft copper tubing. These cutters make clean, right-angle cuts with no
burrs or chips to block tubing.

3. die = is a specialized instrument that shapes or cuts materials for components, parts, and machinery by using a press.

4. die handle - helps or assists in maintaining consistent pressure during the thread-cutting operation.
5. flat file - is used to sharpen instruments with blades, file material down to a smooth finish, or deburr.

6. hacksaw - is a small-toothed, hand-powered saw used for cutting metal pipes, rods, brackets, etc. Plastic can also be cut
with a hacksaw.

7. hand tap - is a cutting tool used to create or repair threads on the inside surface of a hole, creating what is known as a
tapped hole.

8. hand tap handle - is a tool used to hold and operate hand taps during the process of creating or repairing threads in
materials

9. mechanical pliers - are versatile hand tools used for gripping, clamping, bending, and turning objects. Pliers are used to
extract cables and other items. Splicing, bending, and tuning are also performed using them.
10. ripsaw - also known as a tooth saw, is an all-purpose tool for rough cutting in woodworking.

11. round file - Round files are machinist's files that, like half-round files, may be used to create semicircular grooves and polish
and deburr concave surfaces.

12. semi round file - Sharpening, shape, stock removal, and deburring jewelry, clocks, watches, delicate metals, etc.
13. spoke shave - A cutting tool with a blade set between two handles was initially used to shape spokes but is now widely used
for dressing curved edges of wood and forming round bars and shapes.

14. square file - is a rough-surfaced metal tool used to remove tiny pieces of wood or metal from a workpiece. The difference
with this is file is instead of circular grooves, it creates a flat surface of the metal or wood.

15. tinman’s shears - Tin shears or tin snips, which are used for sheet metal work, have high-leverage handles to make cutting
the metal easier.

16. triangular file - Carpenters have historically used a triangle or three-square file to sharpen saw teeth. The file is distinctive
three-sided shape helps it to sharpen difficult-to-reach areas such as the spaces between saw teeth.
17. wire cutter - Wire cutters are widely used to cut copper, brass, iron, aluminum, and steel wire.

18. wood chisel - A sharp-edged hand tool for carving, cutting, and sculpting hard materials, including wood, stone, and metal.
They are commonly used by woodworkers, carpenters, and artisans for various woodworking tasks.

19. wood file - also known as a woodworking file, is a tool used for shaping, smoothing, and finishing wood surfaces.
20. wood planer - also known as a thickness planer, is a woodworking tool used to smooth and flatten the surface of rough
lumber or wood boards.

Measuring and Layout Tools

1. center punch - It is typically used to mark the center of a hole that will be drilled by hand or on a drilling machine.

2. Chalk - is commonly used in machine shops for various purposes, primarily for marking and layout work such as checking
for highspots, visualizing surface defects, and many more.

3. combination protractor - It is a versatile measuring tool that combines several functions in one tool. These are angle
measurement and verification between surfaces, edges, and markings, creating an angle from an edge, and using a bevel
gauge (sliding T gauge) to transfer angles directly to reduce measurement errors and inaccuracies.

4. combination square - is a universal measuring tool commonly used in woodworking, metalworking, and other trades that
require precise measurements and right angles
5. compass or divider - Dividers and compasses are ancient drawing tools used to measure distances, transfer lengths from
one drawing to another, and draw circles.

6. inside caliper - Inside calipers are used to measure the diameters of holes and the distances between inside of the
surfaces.

7. Level - A tool used to determine whether a surface is horizontal (level) or vertical (plumb). It is crucial in construction and
carpentry to ensure that structures are correctly aligned.

8. micrometer - Precision linear measuring instrument for solid body dimensions such as diameters, thicknesses, and lengths.
9. outside caliper - A caliper used to measure the exterior diameter or thickness of an object is known as an outside caliper.

10. scriber - A hand tool used to mark or scriber various materials before they are machined, such as wood, steel, metal, and
plastic.

11. Sine bar - is a precision measuring tool used in the field of metrology and metalworking. It is primarily used to accurately
measure angles, especially in applications requiring exact angle measurements.

12. Speed Square - also known as a rafter square or triangle square, is a versatile tool commonly used in carpentry,
woodworking, and construction. It has multiple functions that make it a valuable tool for various tasks. Some common uses
for a speed square include guiding saw cuts, determining roof pitches, creating miter cuts, and measuring and marking
layouts.

13. steel rule - also known as a steel ruler, is a simple but essential measuring tool used in various fields, such as engineering,
metalworking, woodworking, and other trades that require precise measurements. It is used to measure length, draw straight
lines, checking for flatness and mainly for layout work.
14. steel square - also known as a framing square or carpenter's square, is a versatile measuring and marking tool commonly
used in carpentry, woodworking, and other trades that involve layout work and right angle measurements. It typically consists
of two arms that meet at a 90-degree angle, forming an "L" shape.

15. steel tape - is a flexible and durable tool commonly used for measuring lengths in various fields, including construction,
engineering, carpentry, and other trades.

16. Theodolite - is a precision optical instrument used for measuring both horizontal and vertical angles. It is widely used in
surveying and engineering to provide accurate angular measurements for various construction and mapping applications.
The main uses of a theodolite include measuring angles, topographic mapping, alignment of structure, and establishing
control points.

17. Trammel Points – are tools used in woodworking and construction for marking and drawing large arcs and circles.

18. Thread pitch gauge - also known as a screw pitch gauge or thread gauge, is a measuring tool used to determine the pitch
or lead of a screw thread. It is commonly used in mechanical engineering, automotive applications, and manufacturing
processes.

19. V-block - are precision tools commonly used in machining, engineering, and metrology applications. They are named for
their V-shaped grooves, designed to hold securely and position cylindrical workpieces for various machining and inspection
tasks.

20. vernier caliper - Vernier Calipers are used to measure the distance between two opposing surfaces. We can precisely
measure an object's internal and external dimensions, as well as its height

Driving Tools

1. adjustable wrench - A tool for turning or loosening a screw or bolt This wrench features jagged jaws, one of which may be
adjusted to provide the necessary grip.
2. allen wrench - Used for twisting hexagonal socketed nuts and screws.

3. ballpeen hammer - The ball peen hammer was initially created for peening, or shaping metal objects by pounding.

4. box wrench - This tool is used to loosen and tighten fasteners like nuts and bolts.

5. Breaker bar - A long-handled tool used in conjunction with socket attachments for extra leverage when loosening tight or
stubborn fasteners.

6. chipping hammer - After arc welding, the chipping hammer is used to remove slag.
7. claw hammer - This hammer all have a round head for driving nails, but the claw end is just as helpful for prying, splitting
wood, ripping drywall, and other minor demolition chores

8. flat screwdriver - Tightening or loosening screws with a straight, linear notch on their heads.

9. mallet - A mallet is a block with a handle that is typically used to drive chisels. They are required if your work must be devoid
of impact marks.

10. open wrench – Used to loosen and tighten fasteners like nuts and bolts.
11. oxy-acetylene wrench - A wrench used to tighten hose and fitting connections on an oxy-acetylene unit

12. pipe wrench - Pipe wrenches are used on threaded pipe, which is often made of galvanized steel, black iron, or a similar
metal.

13. Pin spanner - Used to drive and adjust fasteners with pinholes, such as retaining rings and certain collars.

14. Power drill - A versatile tool used for drilling holes and driving screws with the help of various attachments.
15. sander wrench - is a specialized tool used primarily for adjusting or changing the sanding pads or discs on a power sander.
It is designed to securely fasten or loosen the retaining nut or bolt that holds the sanding pad in place on the sander.

16. sledgehammer - The sledgehammer is a heavy-duty hammer used for demolition activities that demand a lot of energy.

17. socket wrench - A socket wrench or ratchet helps you to spin nuts and bolts more easily than a normal wrench.

18. star (Philipps) screwdriver - A Phillips screwdriver features a cross-shaped head with pointy edges that fits nicely into the
cross slots of a Phillips screw.

19. T-handle wrench - Provides a secure grip and extra leverage for driving fasteners.
20. torque wrench - A torque wrench is a tool used to tighten nuts and bolts to a certain torque value. This tool allows fasteners
to be tightened at the right tension, preventing damage from overtightening or joints from breaking apart from under
tightening.

Holding Tools

1. anvil - An anvil's purpose is to provide a base area for forge welding and metalworking.

2. bench vise - A bench vise is a mechanical device used to secure an object to be worked on.

3. c-clamp - Used to hold a wood or metal workpiece, and often used in, but are not limited to, carpentry and welding.
4. collet chucks - Used to hold rotary tools or workpieces in lathes or milling machines.

5. corner clamp - A clamp used for holding materials together at a 90-degree angle, commonly used in woodworking and
cabinetmaking for securing corners during assembly.

6. electrical pliers - Electricians can use electrical pliers to remove the plastic insulation from a wire and reveal the bare metal
wire. When working with electricity and creating electrical connections, electrical pliers are utilized.

7. flat tong - Flat tongs are used for gripping thin section and small flat pieces.
8. holding platen - A flat surface is used for securing and stabilizing materials during sanding, grinding, or finishing operations,
commonly used in metalworking and woodworking.

9. holding jacks - Mechanical devices support and hold heavy machinery or equipment during maintenance, repair, or
installation tasks, ensuring safety and stability during lifting and positioning operations.

10. holding tweezers - Precision tools are used for holding and manipulating small components, commonly used in electronics
assembly, jewelry making, and other delicate tasks.

11. long nose - To handle small things, reach difficult locations, hold wires, bend loops, and attach wires, use this tool. Work
with lower gauge wire.
12. pipe vise - Used in plumbing to secure pipes or tubes while they are being cut or threaded.

13. rectangular tong - Used for holding workpiece of rectangular section.

14. round tong - Used to secure bolts, rivets, and other circular-sectioned workpieces.

15. sine vise - A specialized vise used in machining and metrology for holding workpieces at precise angles, commonly used for
grinding, milling, and inspection operations.

16. spring clamp - A simple and lightweight clamp with spring-loaded jaws, commonly used for securing lightweight materials
during gluing, crafting, or other light-duty tasks.
17. toggle clamp - A type of clamp operated by a handle that applies significant pressure to hold workpieces firmly in place,
commonly used in jigs and fixtures in manufacturing and woodworking.

18. vise grip - Used to temporarily hold a long straight edge on plywood so you can mark a line. They can also be used to
remove stripped bolt heads if they are not too tight.

19. welding clamp - A clamp designed specifically for welding operations provides secure and stable metalwork piece fixation
during the welding process.

20. wood vise - It can grip both large and tiny pieces of wood, making it suitable for both light and heavy-duty tasks.
