Republic Day

On January 26th 2023, the 74th Republic Day was celebrated with solemnity and
grandeur at St. John Campus. The Tri-colour was unfurled at the hands of Dr.
Brajbandhu Das. Esteemed Management members, all the respective
Principals, HoDs, Teaching and Non-teaching faculty members saluted the
National Flag and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity, and
uniqueness that is "India." Dr. Brajbandhu Das delivered a speech on this
occasion. It was followed by a beautiful classical dance performed by students
and teachers, which heightened the patriotic spirit amongst the attendees.
Independence Day
SJCEM celebrated India's 77th Independence Day on August 15th, 2023 with
great zeal. On this special occasion, the programme began with a parade,
followed by flag hoisting at the hand of Dr. Evans Coutinho, esteemed
Management Members, and Principals of all institutes. This day was observed
to honour reminiscences of our valiant heroes' sacrifices and struggles in the
fight for freedom.
Garba Celebration
Garba was held on Saturday 21/10/2023 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

The campus grounds were adorned with colourful decorations, vibrant drapes,
and ornate traditional motifs that captured the festive spirit. A central stage was
erected for live music performances, with skilled musicians ready to serenade
the attendees with traditional Garba tunes.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with students, faculty, and even
local community members joining in the celebrations. Participants, dressed in
traditional attire, added to the lively ambiance, enhancing the cultural
authenticity of the occasion. The enthusiasm and eagerness of everyone to
participate in the dance festivities were palpable.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the event was the seamless
amalgamation of diverse cultures. Students from various backgrounds
enthusiastically participated, showcasing unity in diversity and fostering a sense
of togetherness.
Overall, the Garba Celebration was a testament to the institution's commitment
to fostering a culturally rich and harmonious environment for all its members.

Diwali Celebration
Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated in the Main Auditorium on 10 th
November, 2023 from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30pm. The festivities began with 'Aarti',
which welcomed the faculty and all staff members. The inauguration was then
carried out by lighting 'Diya'. A variety of games such as Inter -Institute Rangoli
Competition, Inter-Institute Cultural Activities, and Tambola were performed by
all the institutes on campus. The staff were dressed in traditional attire. They
were treated to some games and spot prizes. The celebration concluded with
traditional snacks and warm greetings!
