Postgraduate Programs in Applied Linguistics (English Language)


These programs are unique in Alexandria and are open to all graduates of English Departments
of the following faculties:

 Faculties of Arts
 Faculties of Alsun
 Faculties of Education
 Or any other equivalent disciplines provided that they are in compliance with the
admission requirements set by the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University and the AAST.

Starting Date for All programs:

2 Intakes per year (Feb / Sept)

Admission requirements:

1. An original and three copy of the Bachelor degree and/or the recently obtained degree
2. Three copies of the Accreditation certificate issued by the Supreme Council of Universities for
non-Egyptians and private universities
3. An original transcript and three copies of the 4years of the BA and/or the recently obtained
degree
4. Two recommendation letters
5. An original and three copy of Birth certificate
6. Three copies of the ID card or passport
7. Six recent personal photos (six months old)
8. Three copies of the military certificate when applicable

I. Diploma in Applied Linguistics (30 Credit hours)

Courses are distributed among three successive academic terms with four courses per term.

II. MA in Applied Linguistics (32 Credit hours)

 Total number of hours for the courses is 24 hrs.


 Courses are distributed among three successive academic terms with three courses
per term.
 After finishing the courses with a total GPA of C+, the candidate will be ready to
register for the Dissertation.
 Total number of hours for the Dissertation is 8 hrs.
