Youtube is a popular application that is widely used as a learning medium. In the

YouTube application there are many videos related to knowledge such as general knowledge,
history, ordinance texts, speeches, motivations, talk shows and many others. Youtube can also be
used as a medium for learning to speak. The YouTube application is also an application that is
very easy to reach. Youtube establised at Februari 14, 2005 in California. Jawed Karim, one of
the founders of YouTube, said that making videos is an expression of someone who must be
good or bad, so that any video can enter YouTube. So, from the start YouTube was just
someone's expression and they weren't fully aware of the impact.
Youtube is widely used because the presentation is interesting. The community can be
helped because of audio and visual media so that it is more interesting and easy to digest.
According to Brook (2011) states that YouTube is a tool that facilitates language learning and
teaching, boosts confidence, provides authentic materials and also increases the participation of
the students. According to Jon & Michael (2011) maintain that YouTube is useful for teachers
who are interested in promoting learners' autonomy. According to the American Association of
Anatomists, the results demonstrated that 98% of students used YouTube as an online
information resource, albeit at different frequencies.
However, censorship on YouTube can be lax at times. Many unpublished videos are still
circulating on YouTube. So if you open a negative video once, the algorithm on YouTube directs
it to that. In addition, YouTube makes one have an instant mentality without wanting to look for
the basics well in books or other more competent reading. The conclusions from the research

targeting children, and according Zeynep Tufekci, youtube can become others radicalizer
because YouTube started to recommend and “autoplay” videos for me that featured white

So, I think that youtube has its pros and cons, its just how one uses it. Lots of learning
media, lots of negative videos, the choice is in the hands of the user. Youtube is quite helpful
when studying as well as very damaging because YouTube causes an addiction. So, it is a joint
task to upload positive media on YouTube to reduce negative video algorithms. Stay safe and
