A pronoun is a used in a place of a noun or noun
phrase to avoid repetition

VERB
Shows an action or state of being.

Example : Go, speak, eat, live, are, is.

ADJECTIVE
Describes, modifies, or gives more information about
a noun or pronoun.

Example : cold, happy, young, two, fun.

ADVERB
Modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb. It
tells how (often), where, when.

Example : slowly, very, always, well, too.

PREPOSITION
Shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another
word.

Example : at, on, in ,from, with.

CONJUNCTION
A word used to connect on word to another or one
sententence to another sentence.

Example : and, or, but, because, yet, so.

INTERJECTION
An exclamatory word or phrase to express a sudden
feeling or mind or emotion.

Randy : Well, she’s very tall.
Emily : How tall?
Randy : About 6 feet 2, I suppose.
Emily : Wow, that is tall. What color is her hair?
Randy : She has beautiful red hair.

Randy : I don’t know. She won’t tell me.

SUBJECT AND VERB

 A sentence in English must have at least one subject and one verb..

 The subject of a sentence can be a noun, a pronoun or a verb in its


infinitive or in its gerund (-ing) form.

 There are two types of verb;


a. Action verb : verb that tell action you cannot see and some others you
can see.
b Linking verb : that tell what something is/ express a state of being.
