✓ All RTG’s which are using the same SMG-rail are sharing the total bandwidth of 300 Mbps .

✓ The bandwidth of the mobile units are not statically and will optimize automatically depending on
the amount of RTG’s and the required data communication.

✓ The min. required bandwidth of each mobile unit gets allocated/reserved. This value must get set in
advance, depending on the total amount of RTG’s.

✓ The ratio of transmission between upload and download is adjustable from 12%/88% to 88%/12%.

Conclusion

The new data communication features will support:

- Remote Operated RTG cranes ( 3 RTG Cranes per block with 100 Mbit net rate per crane feasible)

- Automated Stacking cranes with integrated Video Monitoring System

- In combination with unipole conductor rail automation of trolley movement on STS cranes

Main features:

- 300 Mbps net rate (264 Up and 36 down)

- Ethernet based protocolls (Profinet / Profinet Safe)

Future features

Possibilities to increase the bandwidth:

- Use two different frequency in one smgx system to double the bandwidth to 600Mbps
(this will be tested)
- Second smgx to use MIMO with one transceiver to double the bandwidth to 600Mbps
(this will be tested)
