Technology integration has become a significant aspect of modern education, revolutionizing the

way students engage with learning materials and the overall learning outcomes. In this study,
we aim to explore the impact of technology integration on student engagement and learning
outcomes among first-year students major in English. By understanding the influence of
technology on these factors, we can gain insights into effective teaching methods and ways to
enhance the overall learning experience for students in the 1st year English major.

(Andrews et al., 2006) Through an analysis of the data gathered from interviews and
observations, this study seeks to determine the effects of technology integration on student
engagement and learning outcomes in the(Chang, 2017) CPC 1st Year Major in English
students (Mustikasari & Norwanto, 2018). The findings of this study will provide valuable insight
into the role technology plays in improving student engagement and learning outcomes, offering
practical implications for educators and policymakers in designing curriculum and implementing
technology integration strategies. The integration of technology in the classroom has a
significant positive impact on student engagement and learning outcomes for first-year students
major in English.(Wang & Yang, 2014) The use of technology, such as interactive teaching tools
and online resources, enhances student engagement by providing opportunities for active
participation and personalized learning experiences (Mustikasari & Norwanto, 2018).
Additionally, technology integration promotes critical thinking skills, collaboration among
students, and a deeper understanding of the subject matter (Wang & Yi, 2014).

Numerous studies have supported the idea that overall student motivation and engagement in
learning is enhanced by the integration of technology (Mo, 2011). In this study, we will be
exploring the impact of Technology integration on First year students major in English in CPC.
This integration shifts the focus of the learning environment to being more student-centered and
allows for them to develop autonomy and control over their learning (Mo, 2011). Integrating
Technology can make the students gain more knowlege and skills. Specific technology
examples that have been shown to enhance student engagement include web-conferencing
software, blogs, wikis, social networking sites and digital games (Schindler et al., 2017).. When
it is applied properly, it can be a determining factor in influencing students' knowledge and
learning (Lister, 2015). . Some of the benefits of implementing technology in basic education
include making learning more interactive and less boring. It improves students' attitudes towards
knowledge and their interest in learning. In addition, technology provides opportunities for
learning control as well as it can help students investigate and answer complex questions,
develop new thinking skills, and access, evaluate, and synthesize information (Hanus & Fox,
2015).

This incorporates educational theories, cognitive psychology, and technological adoption

models, this study seeks to provide a holistic understanding of how technology integration
impacts student engagement and academic performance. By exploring this topic, researchers
aim to identify effective strategies for integrating technology that enhance student engagement
and ultimately lead to improved learning outcomes. In the context of first-year English majors in
the CPC program, leveraging technology can foster active participation, personalized learning
experiences, and real-world application of language skills, optimizing the educational
experience and empowering students to excel in their academic journey.
