ACTIVITY PERMIT

Cluster: College-Based SO Name: CLSU Mathematical Society

Category (FORCES): Fund Raising Activity Control No.: CB-MATHSOC-004
Activity Title: MathSoc GAIN: CLSU Mathematical Society's Generating Additional Income
Network
Level of Implementation: Organizer Scope: University
Date of Implementation: October 12-14, 2023 Venue: CLSU

Rationale:

Any student organizations often struggle with a common issue: not having
enough funds to support their activities. However, the introduction of an income-
generating project becomes a compelling solution to this problem. Student
organizations frequently rely on financial constraints or university funding, which
might not be enough to cover their demands. As the university intramural is getting
nearer, Mathsoc organization wanted to propose an idealistic income generating
product during the week of the intramural. They come up with an idea that in order to
raise the funds and to continuously support the finances of the organization, they
ought to sell several types of food that not just advantageous for the members but
also to all students/faculty of the university during the implementation of the
university’s for-all activity. The Mathematical Society is excited to present this
proposal for establishing a food vendor business specializing in hot dog, drinks, and
a variety of delicious finger foods such as French fries, cheese sticks, and nuggets.
The goal is to provide high-quality, convenient, and affordable food options to
customers inside the university during the intramural, catering to their cravings for
tasty and satisfying treats.

The MathSoc GAIN (Generating Additional Income Network) activity aims to

raise funds to support the activities and initiatives of the CLSU Mathematical Society
(MathSoc). By selling booklets to students, we not only generate additional income
but also provide valuable resources to our fellow students. Within this framework,
income-generating projects can be addressed and emphasized aligned to the CLSU
Mathematical Society Constitution. The constitution's preamble underscores the
importance of organizing the CLSU Mathematical Society to contribute to the
development of the Filipino people. This overarching goal provides a strong rationale
for income-generating projects as they can directly or indirectly contribute to this
development through financial support, educational initiatives, and community
engagement. Additionally, when considering the society's objectives, income-
generating projects can be seen as a practical means to achieve these goals. By
generating income, the society can fund activities and initiatives that align with its
objectives, thereby fulfilling its mission more effectively. This income-generating
projects align with the CLSU Mathematical Society's constitution by providing a
means to achieve its objectives, promoting the appreciation of Mathematics,
fostering academic excellence, and contributing to the development of the Filipino

* To inculcate among members the importance of involving themselves with the rest
of university constituency and the Filipino people as well.

Expected Outcome:

The expected outcomes of the MathSoc GAIN: CLSU Mathematical Society

include increased financial sustainability through income-generating activities such
as fundraisers, workshops, and collaborations, the society expects to secure a stable
source of revenue; as well as an expanded outreach and impact, this may include
hosting more events, workshops, and competitions that benefit students and math

a. Program (Proposed Program/Poster) and its Promotion

Social media serves as an exceptional tool for information dissemination.

As a result, the promotional materials created by Ms. Patricia D. Ronquillo
and Ms. Miriam S. Nidoy, Treasurer and Auditor of MathSoc, will be shared
on the official Facebook page of the CLSU Mathematical Society to reach a
broader audience. Furthermore, to enhance the convenience of purchasing
the goods such as Hotdog, Fries, Drinks ( available in Solo and in
Combos), and below is its respective price. The coordinators will create
pre-order posts for the products and provide order stubs. This will
streamline the process for customers who wish to place pre-orders and
facilitate the collection of their orders.

week, spanning a total of three days. In order to efficiently execute this
initiative, all MathSoc members have collaboratively devised a well-
structured plan. During each of these three days, a predetermined cycle
will be implemented, ensuring that every member plays a pivotal role in
the success of the endeavor.

To elaborate on the division of tasks, the members have

collectively agreed upon a strategic allocation of responsibilities. On the
first day of the activity, a designated member or group of members will
take charge of fronting the business operations. This entails managing the
sales, ensuring the smooth operation of any income-generating activities,
and maintaining quality customer service. Another set of members will
focus on documentation. Their role is crucial in capturing the essence of
the event, documenting transactions, and preserving important records.
This documentation will not only serve as a reference but also facilitate
transparent accounting and accountability. Additionally, there will be a
dedicated team responsible for advertising the business during the
intramural event. Their objective is to effectively promote our offerings to
all the students attending the intramural, creating awareness and enticing
potential customers.

Furthermore, various other tasks will be assigned to individual

members or teams based on the specific requirements that may arise
during the implementation of the activity. These tasks could encompass
logistics management, handling unforeseen challenges, coordinating with
suppliers or vendors, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the
initiative. This allocation of responsibilities will follow the same routine for
the remaining two days of the intramural week. By distributing tasks in this
manner, MathSoc aims to ensure that each member actively contributes
to the success of the income generation program, creating a sense of
teamwork and shared responsibility throughout the event.
