Use:
for actions which happened at an unknown/ unstated time in the past.
e.g:: - We’ve already seen this movie.
- He has won a lot of medals.
for actions which started in the past and continue to the present moment.
e.g: - I have studied in this school since ….. .
- They have known each other for two years.
- How long has he been sick?
for actions which have recently finished and their results are visible in the present.
e.g:: - They have just painted the room.
- He has recently written a book.
to talk about experiences.
e.g:: - This is the best cheesecake I have ever tasted.
- I have never been to Spain.
Form:
subject + auxiliary verb have/has + past participle*
