LEAGUE SANCTION ON THE INCIDENT DURING THE GAME BETWEEN KAPATAGAN

BLACKHAWKS AND KAPALONG (DAVAO DEL NORTE) NEW HOOPS ON APRIL 21, 2024

Coaches, being leaders in their respective teams are also expected to be role models to
all players and members of their teams. The coaches therefore, should set the standard
behavior to their players, team members, as well as the spectators.

The grave act of damaging a property of the Local Government Unit of Kapatagan
inside the venue is a serious offense. The MindanaOne D.League will not tolerate any
kind of abuse or acts of violence. There is no justification to any intentional act that will
harm or endanger the league and our officials, staff, players, coaches, and or fans.

Hence, after thorough investigation of the “monoblock-chair-throwing” incident and

“walk-out” of Kapatagan Blackhawks during their game against Kapalong (Davao del
Norte) New Hoops on April 21, 2024, sanctions are meted out to the parties responsible
and involved:

1. Head Coach of Kapatagan Blackhawks is hereby imposed a LIFETIME

BAN from the league, and can no longer participate in any future related
activities of the MindanaOne D.League, including coaching, attending games
and representing a team.

2. Assistant Coach of Kapatagan Blackhawks is SUSPENDED for two games,

and said penalty will take effect immediately on their next scheduled games.

3. Kapatagan Blackhawks 16-Under Team is hereby declared

DISQUALIFIED, and will be automatically out of contention in the 16-Under
Division Tournament.

4. Kapatagan Blackhawks 16-Under Team shall pay a DAMAGE FEE

equivalent to the current market price of the monoblock chair damaged during
the incident.

The league also encourages all stakeholders and fans to show the highest standards of
sportsmanship and professionalism in all its games. We have a responsibility to the
basketball-loving Mindanawans and the general public to be at our best behavior at all
times.
