University Research Projects - Stanford University
The VR Editor began its life as a collaboration
between Epic and students at Stanford University.

Two teams took very different approaches to

investigating what editing VR content from in VR
would be like. The outcomes of both projects
were valuable to the development of the VR
Editor.

We released the VR Editor Preview at GDC 2016,

and put it in Unreal Engine 4.12.
The VR Editor is coming of age in Unreal Engine 4.16
University Research Projects - Stanford University

There are currently two teams at Stanford

working on applying machine learning to
animation.

The objective of the current project is to

produce new Unreal Engine tech that can
take the input of tracking data from a VR
system and motion controllers, and produce
a believable and plausible pose for a full
body character model.
University Research Projects - Rochester Institute of Technology
A team of faculty, undergraduate, and graduate
students, led by Professor Owen Gottlieb at the
Rochester Institute of Technology’s MAGIC
Center, build an Unreal Engine prototype funded
by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The game was featured at the 50th Anniversary
of the National Endowment for the Humanities
Humanities Arcade .

The strategy game teaches medieval religious

legal systems and how they promote
collaboration and cooperation while
understanding individual incentives.
