4. Past Simple and Past Continuous

I was doing my homework when I got a phone call.

a. Did I get interrupted? Yes , I did.

b. How did I get interrupted? I got interrupted because of the phone call.

c. Am I still doing the homework now? No I , am not.

d. Why? Because I have to answer the phone.

5. What’s wrong with these sentences?

a. I was cleaning the house when I was hearing a noise.

I was cleaning the house when I heard a noise.

Why? Because the sentence is in the past continues and its supposed to be
interrupted.

b. I exercised when I heard the phone ringing.

I was exercising when I heard the phone ringing.

Why? Because the sentence is in the past continues and it starts in the past
simple.
