1. Objective: To study the RC-coupled Class A Amplifier characteristics and calculate the DC
load line, AC load line and compliance.

2. Apparatus: Pspice Application

3. Procedure:
a) Construct the circuit as shown in the schematic diagram by using Pspice.
b) Apply the input sine wave signal with amplitude of 1 V and frequency of 1 kHz using
function generator.
c) Place the voltage probe 1 at the input terminals and voltage probe 2 at the output terminals.
d) Change the beta parameter in the transistor and simulate the circuit.

e) Observe the amplified output sine waveform corresponding to input sinusoidal signal.

4. Discussion:
This experiment discusses the use of the BJT transistor as an amplifier. The circuit is built using
the transistor code 2N3904 NPN transistor. Next, the AC current is biased at 1V, otherwise the
DC is biased at 10V. The input and output waveform on the oscilloscope is generated by the PSpice
software and is attached on FIGURE 2 and FIGURE 3 in this report. Calculation for DC load line,
AC load line and Compliance is determined based on the values shown in FIGURE 1. The steps
for the measurement are also provided in this article. Compliance results of the graph a lot when
the input is in 1V the waveform does not appear very clean, otherwise when the input value is set
to 0.6V the waveform is fine as seen below. This implies that the input value is at its optimal range
and that 1V is too much.

5. Conclusion:
In conclusion this experiment is to explain and understand the use of BJT transistor as
amplifier. The waveform will only look perfect when the optimum amount of voltage is biased.
