Descriptive Analysis of an Artwork

The Buli Tree - By Arlene Datinguinoo

Captured: August 2021

Subject: Nature
Medium of art: Photography

The artist of the work above is none other captured by my very own beautiful and artistic
mother, Ma. Arlene Datinguinoo. In terms of the subject captured by the Visual Art I have
chosen the concept of Nature. This photo was taken in Puerto Galera at Dahilig Resort. At that
moment, my mother had captured the photo because of the breathtaking sunset. It is also called
the Buli Tree for the reason that the tree itself is a type of tree most common in provincial
places. Especially since the photo was taken in the artists’ hometown, it held a deep meaning
of comfort and a sense of solace. For the representation, the artist had pushed to represent the
importance of nature when an individual wishes to take a break, or have a well rested time.
According to the artist, the impact of surroundings is a well rounded tool that may hold tons of
meaning. For the techniques used to capture the art, the artist had focused on highlighting the
Buli tree, whilst being able to show its surroundings and the importance of the sunset for a
better projection of the subject.
