This enables happier candidates as they would not only hear back from the company
but also know why specifically they could not get the position. AI cannot fully take over the
recruitment results part of the recruitment process model due to the major part of it is lying in
the humans making the final decision on who is hired. However, throughout the process AI can
work as a tool to help ensure that an organization gets the recruitment results that they desire.
”Largely the end results of your recruitment depends on the tools that you have
available and how you utilize these…for an example AI can be a very helpful tool in you
use it correctly.” (Professional 6)
“The true measure of quality...are you getting better quality because of AI? Those are
the things...as an institute we are just now starting to see the result of that.”
(Professional 7)
According to Stone et al. (2015), even information technology has impacted the processes and
practices of HRM largely, little research had been conducted and examined about its
effectiveness for organizations. Interviewed professionals mentioned that there is barely a firm
that uses AI in each part of recruitment, but rather in a few parts of their recruitment. The real
effectiveness and real need of using AI in recruitment was brought forth by several interviewed
professionals. It is crucial for companies to consider what is beneficial for them and what is the
real need of implementing AI in their recruitment process. It also needs to be considered what
the main driver of the company is and what they are trying to achieve, because this will in turn
determine if the effectiveness that AI may give is truly what the company also needs.
