Introduction and definition

In recent years, school violence is a big problem, causing headaches for

educational administrators /ədˈmɪn.ɪ.streɪ.tərz/ and competent /ˈkɒm.pɪ.tənt/
authorities. /ɔːˈθɒr.ə.ti/

Causing frustration and confusion for parents, teachers, and students.

Have you ever gone to school with the fear which is not the fear of not doing
homework or coming late but of being injured /ˈɪn.dʒəd/? You can say no but I can
say yes because of the significant increase in school violence nowadays. It has no
longer been a national issue but a global problem. It happened at any level of
education, from primary to university. Especially serious, the number of people
killed has raised recently. The statistic /stəˈtɪs.tɪk/ given recently by the Ministry
/ˈmɪn.ɪ.stri/ of Education and Training in Vietnam showed that there were about
1600 school violence situations that happened in one school year, 5 circumstances
/ˈsɜː.kəm.stɑːnsiz/ each day on average /ˈæv.ər.ɪdʒ/. An estimated 246 million
children experience school violence every year. It rang an alarming bell to the
government and citizens /ˈsɪt.ɪ.zən/ to address this problem.

Just go to Google and type the phrase "Students fight", it only takes (0.42 point
forty-two seconds), and the google search results are 4,090,000,000 phrases related
to students using violence to solve /sɒlv/ problems. This is a terrible and alarming
number. Or just go to Youtube and you will see images and violent videos
recorded by students and posted online.

1.1. Why this issue is becoming more and more serious

This issue has increased rapidly /ˈræp.ɪd/ in quantity, range, and serious level. It
happens not only in males but also in females, not only among students but also
between students and teachers. Because of its seriousness, violence in school is
becoming a significant issue that is mentioned fluently on websites, in books, in
magazines, on television or even reflected in films. For example, a Vietnamese
film which is shown during the Tet holiday of 2011 had the name “School ghost”.
This film talked about problems in school, especially school violence. The film
warned people about the serious problems which still exist in school and called the
support to solve them.
*DEFINITION:

School violence can be understood as any behavior that is intended to harm other
people at schools or near school grounds. This may include bullying /ˈbʊl.i.ɪŋ/ and
victimization /ˌvɪk.tɪ.maɪˈzeɪ.ʃən/, or more severe /sɪˈvɪər/ forms of violence
involving /ɪnˈvɒlving/ weapons. /ˈwep.əns/

7. INCONCLUSION:

No one should be afraid to go to school. Yet for many students around the world,
school is a dangerous place.

The findings above reveal that school violence in Vietnam and other parts all over
the world is more and more serious. It damaged not only the educational system,
and cultural beauty but also the future of a country. Sadly, there are many causes of
this issue and they cannot be solved soon. However, with the raising of awareness
and measures from authorities, we hope that this problem will decrease
significantly and students can study well in friendly educational environments.
And we can all do something about it.
