Grade 2 English – Conjunctions

What is a conjunction?

Examples of Conjunctions
‘And’ joins the similar ideas together.
‘But’ joins to opposite ideas together.
‘Because’ gives you the reason why something happened.
‘Or’-Or is used to express choices.
‘So’ is used to show result.
Define: Conjunctions are the words that are used to link words and sentences.

Examples-

 Joseph ate a hot dog and french fries.

 He wanted to buy a game but he didn’t have money.

 Ram went home because he was tired of playing.

 Who’s taller? Michael or Tom?

 My room was very messy so I cleaned it up.
