How to re-run a condition from the Monte Carlo simulation

1. Start ADE XL from ADE

2. Create New View

Click OK for both windows

3. Setup a Monte Carlo simulation from ADE XL

Once the ADE XL window opens, the output setup should be the same as you see in the ADE from which you launched the
ADE XL. Then select Monte Carlo Sampling from the menu.
Monte Carlo simulation
(shown below)

Select all to have both process

and mismatch variation.

Click Run Simulation after

finishing the setup.

Specify how many samples you

want. Default = 200.

Select a seed, different seeds will

give you different variation state

4. Find the case you would like to see

While running the Monte Carlo simulation, the results window is open so you can see the Yield, Min, Max, Mean and Sigma,
etc. When you select Detail or Detail – Transpose from the menu, the result will show the output of every single run so that
you can check the specific condition.
5. Re-run a specific condition

From the Detail or Detail-Transpose results window, you can check which point you are interested in and then re-run it. For
example, if I think the bandwidth of the “Point 3” is not satisfactory and want to look into this condition, I can call up the
settings and specify this condition in the setup window.

Number of Points is “1” because

we only want one point at this
time.

Starting Run Number is the

number we saw from the detail
results window.
After the setting, run the simulation and the interested condition will reappear in the new results window. You can repeat this
process to optimize some specific process and mismatch conditions.
