Jean Oelwang
Founding CEO of Virgin Unite, Co-founder Plus Wonder

Jean is a Collaborations Architect and the founding CEO of Virgin Unite.


Over the last 19 years, she has worked with partners to lead the
incubation and start-up of several global initiatives, including: The
Elders, The B Team, The Carbon War Room, The Africa Donor
Collective, Ocean Unite (now ORRAA), The Caribbean Climate Smart
Accelerator, 100% Human at Work, and several others.

Jean spent seventeen years helping lead mobile phone companies in


South Africa, Colombia, Bulgaria, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and
the US. She was the joint CEO of Virgin Mobile in Australia prior to
starting Virgin Unite. She co-founded the not-for-profit Plus Wonder to
spark more meaningful deep connections and collaborations in the
world. She is the author of the new book, Partnering.

Sirisha Bandla
Vice president, government affairs & research operations
Virgin Galactic

Currently works as the Vice President of Government Affairs and Research


Operations for Virgin Galactic. In this role, Sirisha oversees legislative,
regulatory, and government business priorities for the company, as well as
work with research customers to fly science and technology experiments on
VG’s SpaceShip class of vehicles. In July 2022, Sirisha launched to space as a
part of the Unity22 mission, Virgin Galactic s first fully crewed spaceflight.
Previously, Sirisha served as the Associate Director for the Commercial
Spaceflight Federation, an industry association of commercial spaceflight
companies.

At CSF, Sirisha worked on various policies with the aim to promote and enable
the then emerging commercial space industry. Before CSF, she worked as an
aerospace engineer designing components for advanced aircraft at L-3
Communications in Greenville, Texas. Sirisha has a Bachelors of Science
degree in aeronautical/astronautical engineering from Purdue and holds a
Masters of Business Administration from the George Washington University.
Sirisha serves on the Board of the Brooke Owens Fellowship Program and the
Future Space Leaders Foundation. She serves on the Engineering Advisory
Council for Purdue University, and serves as Chair of the Board of the
Commercial Spaceflight Federation

Lucy Howard
Director of Brand and Consumer Strategy Virgin Group

Lucy joined the Virgin family in 2016 and leads brand and consumer strategy.

The Virgin brand is a precious asset that we are focussed on protecting and
growing for future generations. Lucy is responsible for understanding brand
reputation and identifying opportunities via Virgin’s extensive market research
programme. This includes exploring the potential of prospective Virgin
businesses, and guiding their development so that they have a positive
impact. She also advises Virgin companies on how best to leverage the brand
to delight current customers and attract more!

Lucy believes that brands can be an incredible commercial advantage - but


only if they are built a solid understanding of your audience and are more than
‘skin deep’.
