 About Assam Engineering College
Assam Engineering College (AEC) is the first
engineering college in the North-eastern
India and a premier technical institute of the
entire country, inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal
Nehru in the year 1955. It is a premier
technical institute of North-east India which
provides an ample amount of opportunities to
the students into developing as well as
improving their extracurricular skills
which from NCC, NSS, entrepreneurship,
ranges
social, cultural and sports clubs. The Alumni
of our college have excelled in myriad of
spheres, also appreciably positioned globally
in many leading government, public sector &
private organizations. AEC has gloriously
completed 6 decades of its spectacular existence, maintaining to be an ambassador to the fraternity
of the world since its inception. And over the years, our institute has been organizing an annual
cultural cum technical fest by the name Pyrokinesis and Udhvabanam respectively

Brief on
our Event OPEN MIC 2.0
In the journey of our life, we go through some big and small events in which some are significant and
some are not but they all make an imprint deep in our hearts. We the students of Assam Engineering
College trying to bring the opportunity to the people out there to express their feelings and share
the untold stories in the "OPEN MIC 2.0" under the banner of "PYROKINESIS 2022" on 30th of March
2022 to appreciate the talent which we have within ourselves and learn from others.

If someone have a vigorous zeal for weaving words or want to tape your tale or feel like
characterizing their emotions or use humor to express their feelings but he/she is amateur, then this
is the platform for them. We are creating a stage where the people can personify their emotions in a
variety of ways in languages like Assamese, English, Hindi, Bengali & Urdu which includes the
categories:

1. Poetry or Shayari
2. Storytelling
3. Stand-up comedy
4. Monologue

Lastly, we are organizing three all Assam level writing competitions namely poetry writing, article
writing and story writing competition under OPEN MIC 2.0 in all the languages mentioned above.

To promote the Open Mic culture among the students, we have decided to reward all the
participants with total prizes worth of 40,000INR. We are also inviting prominent personalities of
Assam as our guests so that the participants and audience get a chance to learn & grow more. Our
fixed guests for the event are Kailash Karthik N, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup District; Pabitra
Margherita, Member Secretary of SLAC for Student and Youth Welfare; Nilim Kumar, renowned poet
of Assam, Dr. Pradyumna Goswami, Spokesperson.

We are expecting a participation in hundreds and a crowd of 5,000+ in our much awaited event.
