Materials:

Row 8: ch 100. This will be half of the neck strap. You can
increase the stitch count if needed. Fasten off. You can
weave in the end, but I usually just leave it.
Row 9: ch 100 (or the same amount of chains done for the
other side of the neck), slst in top right side of butterfly
Upper Wing:
Row 13: turn, slst in 2nd st, slst in 3rd st, ch 3, dc in same
st, inc dc in next st (4 dc), ch 2, sk ch space, inc dc in first
st, dc across until 5 sts remain (including top of 3 ch)
Row 14: turn, slst into next 5 sts, ch 3, dc across till one st
remains before ch space, inc dc, ch 2, sk ch space, inc dc
2 times (4 dc)
Row 20: turn, slst 3 times, ch 250 (this will be one of the
strands that will cross in the back. Fasten off. You can
weave in the end, but I usually just leave it.

Lower Wing:

Row 14: turn, slst in 2nd st, slst in 3rd st, ch 3, dc in same
st, inc dc in next st (4 dc), ch, sk ch space, sk dc st, sk ch
space, inc dc twice (4 dc) - (8 dc total)
Fasten off.
Repeat Butterfly Wing on the other side of the butterfly's
body and then weave in all ends.

If you want more coverage, you can sew the top and
bottom of the butterfly's body onto the upper and lower
wing. See the photo for details.

The Straps:
The straps that are ch 100 that are attached to the body
will tie around your neck.
The straps that are ch 250 first cross over the back and
are put in the top butterfly wing's farthest opening hole.
Then they cross over again to the lower
