IRPIN 2022
Irpin is a city that became an outpost in defense
of Kyiv from the Russian occupiers and stopped
the so-called second army of the world on the
way to the Ukrainian capital. President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskiy has awarded Irpin the
honorary status of «Hero City».

Today Irpin is struggling with humanitarian and

social crises. We are rebuilding our city, planning
its future, reviving the business and bringing the
citizens home.

The total population of Irpin before the war was

100 thousand inhabitants. In the first 30 days
after the end of hostilities, almost 40% of the
population returned to the city. More people
could return if critical social infrastructure was
restored.

This presentation presents 20 critical social

infrastructure facilities that need to be
reconstructed as soon as possible, as rain, frost
and snowfall are ahead.

The presentation also contains visual materials

about the destroyed houses - about 100 of them.
In each of them live an average of 150-200
families.

We invite each city to take care of and restore one

object in Irpin - and then in six months in Ukraine
there will be one less destroyed city. And Irpin
residents will return home, removing the need for
costs from european cities.

 ІRPIN LYCEUM OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES -
SMALL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
Irpin, Zarifa Aliyeva Street, 61/1.
Built in 2017.
BEFORE THE WAR
The lyceum had 176 students in grades 8-11
and 23 teachers. The educational institution
had a strong material and technical base. Each
classroom had interactive whiteboards and
projectors, uninterrupted internet connection.
Laboratories of biology, chemistry, physics,
computer science, robotics were equipped with
appropriate equipment and materials to ensure a
full educational process.
There was a highly qualified teaching staff.
Among pedagogical workers 10 - with the highest
category, from them: 2 - candidates of sciences,
1 - the doctor of pedagogical sciences, the
professor, 2 teachers-methodologists.

Preschool education institution (kindergarten) №2
«Vesnyanka» of Irpin City Council operates in a
building built 100 years ago. There were toddler,
junior, middle, pre-k groups and a short-stay
group in the kindergarten. There were 27 teachers
and 163 children.
A feature of the institution was the warm
atmosphere of family comfort. Despite the old
premises, the kindergarten was provided with
modern equipment for the development and
education of children and the necessary didactic
material. The kitchen was equipped with the latest
technological equipment.

A bombshell hit the building. The area under
the foundation of the walls was damaged. The

The institution was opened in 2015.

Before the war, the kindergarten was attended
by 200 children, including 27 pupils with special
educational needs.
The institution is fully equipped with everything
necessary for the organization of work with
children and training of teachers for various
classes and activities, improving their professional
level.
Classes in English language, «Magic fingers», and

Built in 1969.
BEFORE THE WAR
The institution was registered in the regional Book
of Labor Glory and had the title of «School of
Highly Productive Labor and Exemplary Order.»
2404 children studied here, 117 teachers
employed.
In 2018, a new school building for 550 students
was completed. In February 2006, the school
received the status of an experimental educational
institution at the regional level on the testing
of textbooks and scientific and methodological
support of the scientific and pedagogical project
«Rostok».

The institution was opened in 2017.
BEFORE THE WAR
380 children attended the kindergarten. There
were 27 teachers. 3 inclusive and 2 speech
therapy groups were created.
The kindergarten had an original design. Bright
facades look like pieces of a puzzle. The emphasis
on bright colors in the design helped to create a
place where children returned with pleasure every
day. Each group here was designed by artists
according to their name: «Rainbow», «Fabulous»,
«Space», «Fruit», «Sunny», «Sea», «Forest»,
«Chamomile», «Tropical», «Mosaic».

unit. The garden has its own salt room, where
the recreated microclimate is close to the famous

Irpin Secondary School №12 is an author’s
school of linguistics. There were 2378 students
and 135 teachers.
In 2015, the school was named after the world-
famous ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva. The
institution twice won the title of «Flagship of
Education and Science of Ukraine». Memoranda
of Cooperation have been signed with the English-
language school of Cambridge University in
Ukraine.

BEFORE THE WAR
The Irpin Museum of History and Local Lore was
visited annually by 4 to 6 thousand people before
the epidemic. Forty to Eighty excursions and
various mass events (exhibitions, presentations,
meetings, creative evenings, etc.) are held every
year. The museum covers the history of the city
of Irpen and the Irpen community and acquaints
residents and guests of the city with the work of
prominent countrymen - artists, writers, sculptors,
masters of folk art.

MARKET

Established in 1909.
BEFORE THE WAR
The first mention of the square where the market
was located in the city of Irpin dates back to
1909. It has always been a place of attraction, a
place of trade, business meetings, socializing.
The market has always had a special economic
and social significance for the city. Before the war,
more than 260 private individuals were registered
in the market, there were 512 outlets, about
1,000 people worked, and taxes were paid to the
local budget.

Built in 1980.
BEFORE THE WAR
Romanivka Club was a creative space where
you can spend meaningful time, gather around
traditions, teach children creativity and just
socialize. There were children’s groups in acting,
Petrykivka painting, and vocal classes. A rock
band and a school of drummers were included.
The club was arranged as a cozy auditorium,
where not only classes of creative studios, but
also concerts, performances and festive events of
cultural and educational content constantly took
place.
The club building was one-story, built of silicate
brick produced by the Bucha brick factory, with a

In March 2022, the club was destroyed by the
Russian occupiers. It witnessed the courage,
victory, despair, death, hopelessness, salvation
and heroism of the Irpinians. As a result of
Russian aggression, the building lost its roof,
windows and doors. The walls cracked, the
heating system was destroyed. The cultural
institution was completely looted.

 IRPIN LYCEUM №3
Irpin, street Severinovskaya, 129-a.
Built in 1998.
BEFORE THE WAR
Irpin Lyceum №3 is one of the largest institutions
of general secondary education in the community
and the only institution in the densely populated
district of the city. With a capacity of 1700
children, about 1850 students studied here in two
shifts.
The institution is equipped with 2 classrooms of
information and communication technologies, a
modern educational space, a school radio, three
sports halls, playgrounds and a football field.
There are a large number of sports clubs and
sections: taekwondo, tennis, basketball, handball,
futsal, rugby, cheerleading, karate, free-fight,
floorball, rhythmic gymnastics, sports tourism
and more. In total, more than 700 children are
involved in one or another sport.

on the 2nd and 3rd floors and about 90% of the
windows and doors were damaged. In general, the

 IRPINA CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH SPORTS SCHOOL

Founded in 1958.
BEFORE THE WAR
Before the war, 580 pupils acquired skills and
improved their sports skills at CYSS. The following
sports developed: boxing, judo, volleyball, rugby,
taekwondo WTF, football, futsal, basketball,
orienteering. The school took first place in all
regional rankings of sports facilities.
In 2015, the CYSS reconstructed and opened a
modern complex of sports grounds with artificial
turf: football field, tennis court, volleyball and
basketball courts. In 2019-2020, the facades of
the school were insulated, the roof was repaired,

BEFORE THE WAR
The Central House of Culture was the main
cultural and creative space of the city. Its exterior
and interior decoration enchanted with its beauty.
The auditorium with upholstered chairs was
especially impressive.
The House of Culture was equipped with: an
auditorium for 484 seats with a balcony and
ground floor, foyer, dressing rooms, choreography
hall, vocal and theater classes, office space.
In 2021 alone, despite the pandemic, the Central
House of Culture hosted 60 events attended by
more than 10,000 people. There were also 8
permanent arts and crafts teams with more than
150 participants.

be proud of hosting enchanting performances,

Ed Sheeran and the Ukrainian band «Antytila»,
winners of the song contest «Eurovision-2022» -
