 Issues:

 Identify the key decision(s) the management needs to make


 State the issue(s) that gave rise to the key decision(s)
 Use about three sentences. No need to provide company background

 Analysis:
 Should be about 70% of the write-up
 Apply the material learned in class to the analysis of the main issue(s)
 Often strategic alternatives should be stated and evaluated
 May include quantitative analysis depending on the case
 Recommendation:
 Formulate your recommendations based on the analysis. There must be
a strong logic link
 Should be about only 20% of the write-up
 The main recommendation should NOT be “to conduct more market
research”. Learn to make decisions with imperfect information.
 Do NOT merely repeat and rehash case facts, especially company
background. Instead, draw relevant inferences from case facts to
substantiate your arguments
 Think about the course material and apply relevant concepts when
appropriate
 Avoid including tables or graphs in the write-up
 Avoid use of bullet points
 Respect the page limit (one-page, single-spaced, 500-600 words)
 No need for cover page, in-text citations, or bibliography
 Use proper language. Pretend that you are giving the report to
your boss or client
 Be aware of the time when the events in a case occurred.You must
not treat the events as if they are occurring in the current time.
