Background:

The ordinary objects which surround him become the protagonists of the works of this
artist who never ceases to surprise us: bags from the New York Metropolitan Museum
Bookshop acquire extraordinary dimensions; broken cups and saucers turn into “the
remains of a shipwreck” and lemons suggest a game of tic-tac-toe. Undoubtedly, Fabian
La Rosa has something to say and his message moves us one way or the other.

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1970. Drawing was one of his favorite pastimes and
since he was small he showed special ability for it. In 1986, he moved with his family to
San Martin de los Andes, in the province of Neuquen, looking for work. Fabian, who
was 16 years old, soon became known in the town as a drawer of posters, profession
which has now become obsolete because posters are printed with the aid of computers.
Soon afterwards, he opened a graphic design studio, becoming a successful collaborator
of Advertising agencies.

His passion for art grew stronger and, together with his brother Martin (two years
younger), decided to follow this path. In 1992, they exhibited their works at the Cultural
Center Amankay in San Martin de los Andes. They are very elaborated works with a
certain dreamlike quality and were well received. After dedicating three years to music,
in 1998 he picked up painting once again with a more renovated style. Since then his
growth as an artist has never stopped. Having settled in Buenos Aires since 2010, his
paintings, accomplished with incredible craftsmanship, reflect great serenity.
