EITHER AND
NEITHER

EITHER AND NEITHER:
"Either... or"
We use "either... or" in affirmative sentences when referring to
a choice between two possibilities.
Examples:
a) We can either eat now or after the class.
b) Either David or Alessandro ate the cookies.
c) I will play either with Dave or with Lulu.
d) Susan could either do her homework or
be with her BFF. It was a difficult choice.
So, how can we combine options?
RESULT:
Emily can be either a good friend or a bad enemy.
EITHER AND NEITHER:
"Neither... nor"
We use "neither... nor" in negative sentences when saying that two
or more things are not true (without neg. auxiliaries).
Examples:
a) Neither my cousin nor her boyfriend
went to university.
b) I will eat neither cakes nor candies.
c) You should neither call me at home
nor the office.
d) Neither Roger nor Charles is coming.
They're really angry with each other.
So, how can we combine options?
RESULT:
Max studied neither engineering nor law.
