1 GENERAL
1.1 General
This document describes the components, operating principle and
troubleshooting of the compressor and pneumatic circuits.
Control instruments and warning lights are described in the operator’s
manual, in the chapter entitled “Control instruments”.
2 SAFETY
2.1 Safety
Note! Always follow the safety instructions and be careful with your work.
Note! Only people who have been given specific service training are
allowed to undertake service, adjustment and repair procedures.
Read the instructions before undertaking any servicing, adjusting or
repairing.
Note! Hazardous moving and rotating parts. Carry out service and repair
work only when the rig is not running. Make sure that the rig cannot
be accidentally started or moved when you are carrying out the
service.

After compression, the compressed oil/air mixture is led from the screw
compressor into the spiral duct of the oil/air receiver (7), where most of the
oil is separated from the air and falls to the bottom of the receiver. The rest
of the oil mixed with the air is separated when the air flows through the oil
separator elements (8). The oil from the bottom of the separator chamber is
forced through the pipe to the intake side of the compressor unit using the
pressure difference. The pipe includes the strainer (14) and orifice (15) (on
top of the oil/air receiver) which must be cleaned regularly.

5.5.2 Starting
When the rig’s power is switched on with the ignition key, the solenoid valve
(25) is activated. The valve opens and releases the pressure from the
intake valve (6).
When the diesel engine is started, the solenoid valve (22) opens and the
solenoid valve (23) remains closed for 30 seconds after starting. The
pressure of the pressure accumulator (24) keeps the intake valve (6) closed
so the compressor does not load the diesel engine.

5.5.4 Delivery
The system pressure is raised to the pressure regulator's (18) defined value
(8 bar) for flushing and blow-down functions. The intake valve (6) operates
between 8-9 bar and is fully closed at 9 bar pressure. The oil which is
separated from the air is delivered to the compressor unit (5) via oil return
line and cooling line.
When oil temperature is below 45 degrees celsius thermostat (11) is open.
When temperature is from 45 to 48 thermostat (11) is partially open. When
temperature is over 48 degrees celsius thermostat (11) is fully closed and
all oil circulates through the cooler (12).

5.5.5 Stopping
When engine is stopped by turning the ignition switch off, valve (22) is de-
energized.
Rotation of the rotors of the compressor (5) stops and the pressure which is
in the receiver affects after a while also in the intake side of the compressor
(5) and also on the other side of the blow out valve (19).
This means that there is the same pressure on the both sides of the blow
out valve (19). Because of the difference in square areas of that valve it
opens and lets air out from the receiver (7). Intake valve (6) works also as a
check valve preventing oil mist not to go to air filters (3).
Check valves (16) and (20) in the regeneration line and substitute line are
also preventing oil not to go to air side of the system.
When the pressure in the receiver (7) drops below the minimum pressure
valve (9) setting, the valve closes.
8 bar pressure remains in the pressure accumulator (24) when diesel
engine is stopped.

The line from the oil/air container remains pressurized when the
minimum pressure valve has closed, unless air is used for some
function, e.g. to blow clean the dust collector filters.

8 TROUBLESHOOTING

9 MAINTENANCE
9.1 Maintenance
• The inside of the air receiver must be checked for corrosion and other
possible wear at least every four years.
• No welding is to be implemented on the air receiver for fasteners or other
purposes.

1 INFORMACIÓN GENERAL
1.1 Información general
Esta función tiene como objetivo el de lubricar el mecanismo de rotación
del martillo perforador y su espiga. La lubricación se realiza usando una
mezcla de aceite de lubricación para la espiga y aire comprimido. La
correcta lubricación de la espiga es esencial. De lo contrario, se podrían
producir daños importantes en el martillo.
Si sigue estas instrucciones incrementará significativamente la seguridad,
la fiabilidad y la durabilidad del equipo. El servicio de asistencia de Sandvik
siempre está dispuesto a asesorar y ayudar al cliente en cualquier
problema de relacionado con el equipo.
2 PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

mismo tiempo, el aceite de lubricación se aspira desde el depósito a través
de la lumbrera S hasta la cámara del pistón de funcionamiento. Cuando el
voltaje de control se corta desde la válvula (CT5.1), la presión más alta se
dirige al lado del pistón, y el aceite en el lado del vástago del pistón vuelve
a entrar en circulación. El aceite de lubricación se bombea al martillo
perforador a través de la lumbrera L.

7 INSTRUCCIONES DE MANTENIMIENTO
7.1 Revisión del funcionamiento de la unidad de supervisión

3. Cierre el tornillo de purga (CT7) cuando el aceite que sale por el proceso
de purga ya no contenga burbujas.
